The forms are not as bad as they look at first glance.Pretty straight forward but check, check and check again before sending in. Always put NA..not N/A for not applicable answers. We go for 3 weeks from Jan 1st,it will be our 14th time,Have you been before? :cheers

VFS Have returned my wifes Irish passport and visa application, they require proof of stay in UK.This is our fourth visit to Goa and this problem has never happened before. She has resided in the UK for the last 43 years.
Has anyone had this problem ,if so what can she submit as proof of residance ?(we live with my parents so there are no utility bills in her name !) ?.

how about bank statements(with sensitive info blacked out), driving licence etc.
Is it possible to view on line the electoral register for your area and print off relevant page?
I am sure someone will come along with a simpler answer.
Maybe you have someone "professional"as a neighbour who will write a note confirming.

I quote "photocopy of old & current bank/credit card statements will not be considered as proof of stay "

car insurance certificate, car registration doc, income tax statement, any kind of benefit document?
Maybe worth a visit to your bank manager to ask for a letter, but they will charge.
possibly worth getting a UK passport.
difficult to see why they have a problem as I assume your wifes' passport is a EU one but issued in Eire or a EU/UK issued in Northern Ireland.

Does your wife work, if so maybe a letter from her employer etc.

My husband has an Irish passport and in May applied for his visa and was told to apply as a non resident, filling in an extra form and paying extra and giving a old Irish address. Two days he had a phone call from the High Commission asking why he was applying as a non resident. having explained all, he was told to fax bank statements for 3/4 years, photocopy of his driving license and his National Insurance number....he had all these at the visa centre but they would not accept. His visa was ready two days later. We all know bank statements are not acceptable but in this case they were. Good luck.

just started filling visa form in....asking for old visa number...i destroyed old passport, wont let me carry on without entering anything....any ideas what i do next...paul

Pauly, you could contact either the VFS if they arranged your last visa or the HCI in London and ask them if they would let you know what your previous visa number was. They may ask you a few security type questions or may suggest you write to them.

what do first timers put there?
will they actually check to see if you have had a visa before? Especially as your new passport number is not on their records anyway
suppose you could put NA, as in Not Available instead of Not Applicable

You can get them done in Asda now in a booth, I think ours were about a fiver each, you put your money in and it gives you some options (1 of them being indian visa photos 2` x 2`) lol, made life easy for us, hope this helps

kaz999. After reading your post,I rang our local Asda, but their booth doesn't do 2" x 2".....Looks like it will have to be the photographers for us :(

bluemoon,If you go back to page 121 of this thread, you will see i had the same problem on the sample form printed from vfs site. However when i printed a form from another site, it was not on the form. Is this on your online application or are you looking at a sample form?
Reply
Hi Milliemeg I am just looking at the sample form,
