i know this sounds silly but when you staple the photo to the back. which part of the photo do you put the staple through? top? bottom? and do you staple it to the top or bottom of the page. told you it was daft

We had our photos taken in a 'Photo Me' booth yesterday. The price shown inside the booth showed £5 for 4 photographs, however, when we selected the size we needed, the price suddenly changed to £7. We didn't mind the increase, but wished they had put the price on the booth so that we could have made sure we had enough change on us, or if they had a slot for notes that would have helped.
I had already stood in line to get 10x £1 coins and then had to go back for some more
Smudger.I've read on the other site that you paste one to the form and sign underneath and paper clip the other hope this helps.
sleeps: I know who I would like to "paste"
Me too silentman.
cheers sleeps. have done the visa sunday. will post today and start praying as usual is it me or is their a lot more to it this time and also more checklists to send and proof of paying. didnt remember doing all that before.
Can you add a second application, or do you have to do two applications as a couple?
When should I chose to print the form? Should I complete the procedure, pay, and then print?
i had exactly the same thing happen and had to fill another online question form. what i did though is when it got to the print the second time go on the print and pay. it then lets you print the form and save it to your hdd when you have finished printing it and when you close the pdf reader the payment window is open and you finish off the payment section. just feel this procedure has not been thought through properly and has not been tested to make sure it is easy for anyone to do. i work with computers and i found this stressfull as it does not go how you expect it to go. take for instance. when you fill the form online there is no question asking the address of where you are staying whilst in india. when you print the form the box appears with nothing in it. they then tell you that all boxes must be filled. do you write it in yourself? i did but dont know if i am wrong. will find out when i send it off today.its fingers, toes, etc crossed!!!!!!!

My god i'm stressed just reading your posts.. Hope everything goes well for everyone..
Do you think it makes any difference whether you staple or paperclip the 2nd photo to the back of the form? I ask as the general notice on the visa website says the 2nd photo should stapled to the back however as the new size photos do not have as wide a border as the old size photos, your staple would go into the actual picture and not the border.
I stapled mine onto the back of the form and when my Passport came back they must have stapled the picture to the back of my Passport as a staple was hanging from it. I would have paper clipped mine but didnt have any.
1) There are 3 pages of details to be entered about your application, at the end of each page you are given the opportunity to save the details entered so far or to proceed to the next page, you are given a "temporary application ID number" to retrieve details you may have saved.
2) After the 3rd page you are taken to a page which lists all the details you have entered on your application, should you need to make any corrections you can "modify/edit" when you will be taken back to the first page of your application or you can confirm the details are correct by entering "verified and continue"
3) You are now taken to a page which gives you a " File Number starting with GBRL" you can no longer make any alterations to the details entered and the temporary id number is of no use,
You can either "Print Form" and return later to make an appointment/payment using the GBRL File Number or procced directly to "appointment/payment" which opens 2 windows one top of the other, print the Visa Form first then close the window, which leaves the payment page .
4) If you pay online don't forget to enclose a copy of the receipt
and the declaration
I could not as in previous years make more than 1 application at a time and had to make 2 seperate paymnts not sure if this was due to my mistake or not but it caused me a lot of confusion

and yes i had to start a new application for my wife as the follow on for familly member does not appear to be on this application. maybe the system needs debugging!!!!
excellent post silentman and yes its not too clear what to do and really you dont know what to do until you have completed it. if that makes sense. but i think you put it well. dont forget the checklist as well. (and yes i had to start a new application for my wife as the follow on for familly member does not appear to be on this application. maybe the system needs debugging!!!!
There's another problem smudger, I opted for the VFS return courier service as it worked well last year, when I paid for my wife's application I had to select the prepaid SDE envelope option in order to avoid paying twice, I just hope they realise what I have done, I know its obvious but
Do you think it was cause issues if I put my mum's address on the return one? I'm never in when the postman does his rounds.

Not applied for mine yet this year, but I always go to the centre now because I've had more rejections than Dusty Bin. It seems to vary so much person to person that deals with it at the visa centre.
All I can say is keep it as simple as possible, if you have doubts then there's a very good chance that it'll confuse the hell out of the person that processes it at the visa section.
