in simple terms
http://in.vfsglobal.co.uk/
fill in on line forms, pay on line, print forms off , send the forms plus 2 photos (2"x2") one of which is glued to the form, include passports plus a return special delivery envelope to the address shown.
Sit back and wait
(also have a look at the visa thread as all questions you may have re details are covered there)
Thanks del
Nice to see you back Les 127!!
Is there any of our wise folk out there who can help with a bit of advice. I've filled in our applications on line got tracking number ect, I've noticed on the form which you print to send with your passports, a box asking for the name of your hotel. As this is not on the on line form do you fill this in by hand ? also do you send in the checklist & declaration form any help will be most grateful...Keith
I filled in any empty boxes by hand, sent the declaration but not the checklist and got visa's back in 11 days(including a weekend and an Indian holiday).
We didn't fill in the empty boxes and got the visas back ok but we did send the declaration and check list as well.
You pays yer money....yer take your choice,as the saying goes!!!! (Or something like it)
Thanks for replies as ever there's always someone prepared to help out, as you say ..you pays your money...you takes your chances.. Keith
we sent everything and filled in blank boxes. 11 days from start to finish
Filled in forms on line, didn't alter or add anything else,(except signatures etc) paid on line, sent forms, passports, declaration and photos.
No problems.
Relief all round!!!
can you still pay for visa with postal order ?
Trying to sort my brothers visa.....i did mine in September and have already forgot....
Mode of payment could be Online (if made an application online) Cash, Debit or Credit Card (except American Express Card), Postal Order or Bank Draft payable to "VF Services UK Ltd"
I sent for my visas on Tuesday 1st Nov and have just recieved them back today 10th, that's 9 days including a weekend and an Indian public holiday, excellent service.
A week has passed since I submitted our applications to Hayes, and still no update on progress on the website, should I worry? Trying not to but I'm sure that on previous years the website was updated more often than this!
I posted the application on the previous Friday afternoon for delivery either Saturday or Monday.
Going to be busy now though.
hmm now I am beginning to slightly worry. The other thing on the application form there was an option to pay a little bit for email updates, has anyone else done this? I haven't received anything this way either - not that we have ever had this before (12th application so feel like an old hand with the visas)
a week of not hearing anything is not unusual for vfs and we paid for text messages but we had our visas in our passports in our hands before we got any messages. true they did send them afterwards so i dont feel diddled but i wont do it again.
I didn't pay for the email service and I didn't bother checking the update on the website, just sent the applications and waited. No probs.
Spent a lovely evening yesterday, filling in the on line form & declaration, signed it in fresh virgin blood [not mine obviousley] attached the photoss from Asda [£7.00] went to bed relieved. This morning my hubby went to the London office very early only to find that it was another Indian holiday, so no flight booked, no visa, hopefully will make it to Goa before the end of the season.

I received 3 emails and text messages which were roughly at the same time as the updates on the vfs online tracking, so not worth paying for, although the last text message gave the dx tracking number and if you use the dx service its the only way of obtaining the tracking number.
Not looking at visas yet 'till late January but problem I had last time was not being able to do 2 applications and one payment at the same time. Read about others with same problem, definitely no button to move forward to next application, any problems this time around ?
