Franny, mine got updated twice in one day, once to say it was received, and once to say it was under process and then 2 days later it was updated to say it was being sent to me, so things are moving quickly.
I bet you enjoy that first Kingfisher on the beach when you get there! It will all seem like a distant nightmare.

You need two UK referees in case of emergency. You don't need to put Indian ones.

Don't you have the name and address of a hotel yet?
I'd put the British Deputy High Commission, Mumbai (+ 91 22 6650 2222) as they are responsible for Goa, not Delhi.
Address is:
Naman Chambers, C/32 G Block Bandra Kurla Complex, Bandra (East) Mumbai 400 051
Someone on another website asked VFS Global if it is acceptable to put NA or not applicable for a referee and they said it is okay to put this for a TOURIST VISA if you do not know of a referee in India, though I'd personally still recommend putting your hotel details or BDHC as the first referee as a safeguard.
Don't put in any commas between address lines and no spaces between the phone numbers.

Oh well just an update from me on my visa application.As yet there is still no change to the status they have on their system for me but I wont give up yet.Hope you are all keeping fingers toes & eyes crossed for me.Due to travel 1st Nov:
Posted ours to Hayes two weeks yesterday - still no sign of it. Having bad vibes now! especially after seeing some here have been returned, and ours was sent a week before. Franny I know how you are feeling.
Posted ours Friday 9th returned yesterday , always on tender hooks until they are back.
Well despite more phone calls Iam still none the wiser about the visas. Iam now told to send an email to them,This I have done & now anxiously waiting a reply.As you can see time is not on my side The 1st Nov: is creeping up on me. 
I have a bit more news.On the system it now shows as being recieved at application centre Hayes,Ooh I really hope that things might be moving.Any more feed back from you will be greatly appreciated as to what happens next.

Thanks Squigs I still have my fingers,toes & eyes crossed that they are right this time & I get them back soon.

Franny as it's saying your application has been received at Hayes then at least you know that they have got it and are processing your visa's, keep a close eye on the VFS tracking (silly thing to say as I know you are) your status should change on there soon and then you can really relax - everyone on here is rooting for you, it'll be fine, you'll see, Fizz 
Once again many thanks.I feel as if I am glued to the computer lately as thats all I seem to be doing checking the system.But as you say I will not give up hope yet & will just keep tracking it.
