ours came by courrier so postal strike would not have affected it. seems they send them by royal mail or courrier. dont think you can choose.

You can choose.
At the start of the online application you are asked, and if you fill the form out by hand, simply state your preference.
At present it would be extremely foolish to choose Royal Mail, and VFS would look a lot less stupid if they made the decision at present to just use the courier!
after three and a half weeks ours have arrived today ,so roll on the meets will see you all starting onthe 4th nov, flying monday after all, : but phew that was too close for comfort,so this is one smiley happy dragon ,for the 1st i will keep my fingers crossed for you
Fantastic news , but that was tooooooo close for comfort !!!
Hi Dragon07, realy pleased about your news now you can really begin to relax & get ready to enjoy your hols.I still haven't given up all hope but I just heard that the mail maybe going on strike again next week for even longer so dont know what other problems that may cause me.xx
can i fill my visa application online now but not actually submit it for a few weeks.
is the web ref number they give you only valid for a certain time
many thanks
I think it is only kept on the system for 15 days.
They are so inefficient. Tracked visa on website firstly could not find it, 2nd.
it said they were waiting for further information from us and to call the Call Centre. Why did they not have the decency to call us if there was a problem.
Spoke to a person in the call center, and was told there was no reason that he could see that our Visa's had not been sent out, and somebody would ring us back before 5 two days ago - guess what, we are still waiting for the call.
Rang them to-day again, just told "it is in the pending tray" and the phone went down. Great at over £1 a minute.
seems once they start moving on them doesnt take long,if next weeks strike is like this its postmen one day drivers another so as long as posties are working they will come i am sure you will be ok,and i will get you a large coffee!!!!!!! at the meets
Thanks dragon07.Will look forward to it.will keep you up to date hopefully before you leave for your hols I might have some good news to share.xx
My boyfriend can finally stop stressing - even though we don't go till December.
Just the one thing that annoyed me. I sent all 4 in one SDE by Royal Mail, think it cost £5.95 but had to send 2 for them to be returned. I don't get it? Why can I send 4 in one but they'll only return 2 together? It's not that the visa's weigh a lot when they stick them in!
Anyway grumble over - Whoo!! I counting the days till we fly now! x
Fizz
Hey Fizz I really hope you did see that sign .XX
thanks for that
Nothing to report so far.XXX
I'm not saying that's correct, and even if it is I'm not saying it's right - just putting forward a possible reason why THEY didn't get in touch with you.
Just a little update, system is presently showing -processed application handed over to Royal Mail 23rd Oct: Iam feeling a bit better now but wont be dancing with joy until they are in my hands.Still fingers crossed will hopefully have the final instalment very soon.XXXXX
Has anybody had the problem tracking visa applications on the VFS website, when I put the codes, date of birth it just comes back invalid search all the time, ours where posted a week ago so am assuming they have not been checked ?
franny that is brill news I dont know what it is like in England BUT the lady in our post office here in Belfast said they still come and pick up the visas even if there is a post strike thats what we pay the over 5 pounds for .....colleen
