Hi Franny, that is really bad luck. In most cases NA is sufficient if you don't have any details of parents.
Have you much time left to be able to send off all the details they have asked for?
Oh Franny that is awful im so sorry to read this I know what is like waiting on the visas to come back ..i hope you get it sorted when is it your going have you time to wait about a bit for them ....colleen
yes ours are back,no more stress Goa here we come, thank you all for your help
) I presume you grabbed a last minute holiday with no previous experience of getting a VISA.due to travel 15th of this month
We fell for the NA trap this time hving passed last time with the same answer but that was for referees. One of the things I guess they are looking for on VISA applications are connections to terror hence the request for parental background. At least both our situations have highlighted potential problems for others to avoid. In your situation I would think the best policy is to put "unknown" and send a copy of the birth certificate.
All the very best of luck in getting this situation resolved in time.
Thanx everyone for the replys. sorry if I gave out a false departure date Iam actually leaving the 1st Nov; since I last logged in I have sent the applications off again hopefully they will be right this time.Fingers crossed for me PLEASE.xx
Fingers and toes crossed Franny our,s only took 6 days including the weekend so
Post office tried to deliver a special delivery envelope today while we were out. Left a card. Collecting it tomorrow -
When filling my forms in I also put NA for both father and mother of my wife, and NA for my father, I posted forms Monday, then received a phone call from Hayes on Tuesday, asking for details of all three parents, I just had to tell them the christian names and Nationality,of all three, over the phone, the man on the end thanked me, and told me there was no problem, and we should receive passports back with visas by Friday Which thankfully we did. Have you tried to sort it out over the phone. Hope everything turns out O/K for you all, I'm sure it will, and have a great time.

No one rang us !!!!
My problem could easily have been sorted over the phone had they given me the chance but they simply sent them back with a cover note requesting I filled in details of two UK referees.
Seems like the luck of the draw who gets your application, as previously stated, ours sailed through last year without the need for filling in this information.

I wonder what it could possibly be
I think I know
At last I can start to relax a little !!!!
Now I don't want to worry you but those were the sentiments my other wife had when the postman delivered ours back.... the first time !!!!!
I FINALLY completed mine and hubby online application form only to notice that my passport number was 1 digit short.......i tried to go back and everything disappear grrrrr
I start all over again as I didnt have the web number only to be told after complete my form correctly and then trying to add hubby that hubbys was already being process............what happens now ???? Can I cancel hubbys and start from the beginning again
I want to also pay on line which i didnt manage either.
I apologise if this has been answered before, I have tried to search for similar question but my head is buzzing
Why or why do we put ourselves through this every year
Many thanks in advance
Jules
However, depending on the time you have available I think I would send them an e mail asking them to clear both applications and start again.
Good luck Dave
OH well I posted the visa applications back yesterday, just hope they are right this time, cant really rest because Iam due to fly out Sun 1st Nov:just wish I knew if they were right.Never had this problem before.Just one small thing thats troubling me-about half way down the application form where it says -Port of entry,I put Dabolim Goa then is it right that I put Port of exit also as Dabolim Goa.I noticed quite a few of you have had the visas back in a few days.lets hope I have this luck as well, just wish I could phone them up & correct any minor mistakes i may have made but unfortunately the times I have rung over the last coupe of days all I get told is they are not filled in correctly .Well its really finger toes & eyes crossed for me.
That's right, Dabolim, Goa twice, as some people will enter at one airport, do some travelling and leave from a different one.
Good luck.
OH once again Iam worried about my visa being returned as Iam getting different answers to my question. If they had only told me what the mistake was I would have been able to correct it but there was no note in it at all.I really hope I have got it right this time,Thanx for the reply.XX
Did they put any marks or anything on the visa form to show errors?
Did you include the correct payment?
Ask as many questions as many times as you like. We all have to go through the visa system, and will offer help and support as many times as needed.
Just posted ours off today - keeping all fingers and toes crossed I've completed them correctly! Will update in due course
I can confirm that my special delivery envelope that I collected this morning did contain two passports complete with visas Yippee.
Extremely impressed as my finger must have slipped when I put o/h's date of birth on the form and never checked it. I sent the form off with the 12th of August as his brth date and it is actually the 11th. They must have changed it for me.
Lucky or what!!!
Sent them to Hayes, who then sent them to Victoria Centre London (due to the volume being received at Hayes I assume) and received them back yesterday at post office (collected them this morning) 7 working days in total.
Good luck to everyone who is in the process of applying - Not too bad an experience for us this year after all
Glad to hear you have them back.
Just checked my application and it says one was created today which is slightly odd because until today it had the 2/10, the day I first created an application so something has happened and yet it didn't change when I amended then on the 9th.
Ah well, hang on in there !
Go without you .................
To right I would - I told the real other half that if mine came back and his didn't 'cos I'd put the wrong birth date on - sorry and all that hoped he'd have a lovely New Year but I was off on my own !!!!!
Seems like yours is at last moving - Won't be long - keep us informed. Fingers crossed they're OK this time
Dave's (the other one's wife)
