just filling in the online app now and noticed a 1yr in the drop down box?
There are some posts in this section somewhere by people with more experience of the visa process than me, but they rarely grant a 12 month visa. You can apply for one, pay the fee for one and get a 6month visa back with no refund.
I/C you should have yours back the very latest monday i'll keep my fingers/toes /legs crossed you can't let the side down i know yours have to travel further than ours but not to worry they are on the ball this year/season..
Yours won't take long Colleen, you've been so many times now and are in their system so I expect it will be a quick turn around for you too. Fizz
Just a quick question - does anyone have any idea why the new visas are glued in several pages into the passport -I have often wondered why they do this but I'm sure there is no "logical" reason - or is there
Also, has anyone yet found out what they do with all the photos they have of us?
Passports due to be delivered today, but I'm not home, so will have to collect them tomorrow. I've already checked with DX Secure, they have a depot just a few miles away, so will be easier to go there than to arrange a re-delivery. An 8 hour time slot is a lot to ask anyone to wait in for!
I expect they have a big wall covered in our photo's and when they are having a really bad day they throw darts at us Fizz
many thanks
just looked on the visa tracking website and it says that our visas have been processed and handed back to royal mail. we paid online for return so dont know the tracking number so cannot follow it home. expect it will come back tomorrow so will see my little man across the road to see if he will sign for it.
a half happy smudger2 and grannypat.
will be extattic when they arrive
They were received there on Monday. I've tracked them today and they now say Application accepted at London Victoria application centre.
Just wondering why when they tell you to submit postal applications to Hayes application centre they've decided to send them onto London Victoria. Nothing to do with jurisdiction areas as I live in East Midlands
smudger2
I wondered if maybe they are starting to spread them around a bit due to the volume being received at Hayes.
Yay!!got my visas back today, just a week since I sent them so not bad service at all
I mean we are tourists Are'nt we?
No,I really am intetrested if any member has had more trouble going on hoiday anywhere in the world.
I really thought tourism was down all over the world and maybe countries would be trying to encourage tourists.
Hey but this is India.
Sorry for the rant but just about to do our visas for this year.
At least it looks like we will get two trips out of it this year.
Pathetic way to treat people who contribute to the economy.
Papa
Hi Papa, it is much more difficult for Indians trying to get a visa to come for a holiday in this country!
That may well be the case but the truth is we are "really"going on holiday.
The fact is due to economic factors a large proportion of Indians coming to the U.K. will not go home in two weeks.
I understand the Indian government are operating a policy that reflects the U.K. policy to Indian visitors and thats understandable.
But lets get real, they would get many more U.K. based tourists if they made the system more tourist friendly.
Papa
Papa, our friend in Goa for 15 years "really" wanted to come and visit us for a month. Despite us submitting a reference, our personal financial details, our business details and him submitting his family business details, he was turned down for a visa 3 years running so just gave up on the idea. The UK visa department said his visa application was declined because they felt he might not return to Goa, this despite him owning a business and property in Goa and all his family being there. It also cost him quite a lot of money trying for a visa which was non-refundable.
3 working weeks, if you're travelling in November and not got your visa yet I should hurry up and get it sorted !!!!
I bet that I would get my passports back by tomorrow having sent them last Saturday !
Well I got them back this morning.............. without the VISA's
I didn't fill in two UK referees so they have been returned. I didn't fill them in last year and they went through but my o/h tells me I did the year before. Anyway they want them this year, You have been warned !
Now, will I make it before the post strike.
Gripping stuff eh
Got it now Dave
