We have another offer then you, we get our money back and a free holiday (to Kos) and if you don't want that holiday you get your money back 1.5
But holidays are a lot cheaper here than with you.
It's a shame for those who leave in a couple of weeks (or even days....). I've never heard it happened before and as said before, they had to know it, it wouldn't open because we also saw pictures!!!! But yeah, the money he?? And the bad publicity....but I think this is worse for their image than when they've cancelled it a few weeks ago.....

Good morning all, so this was'nt all a dream then, or should I say a nightmare. Wonder if they will give me a s/c holiday for free on wednesday and my money back?
This is all so unfair. I have no idea what I am entitled to reegarding refunds, I have booked a train to take me from Aberdeen - Gatwick and a plane back to get us to and from flights. If Debz32 had not sent me an email I would of been non the wiser that it was even cancelled. If can't get AI, then what am I meant to do for spending money, I am sure there is others in same situation, but its not fair how they can do this!
I do not think they will sort it out. I will have to go with the rest of family or cancel altogether.
Why can't they come to some sort of arrangement with other travel companys to just ghange holiday and then FC send them the money. We can't afford to re-book.

Hello has anyone got through to fc yet and got sorted out with another holiday . We should be getting a call rom them very soon if they have sorted all the 1st July out.
I just spoke to my travel agent, she was totally unaware that fc had cancelled. She looked up the compensation which is rubbish, still not heard from fc, is so shocking that they treat their customers in this way!
Just discovered this morning via the forum that the KABC is not opening this season - it i'd have been nice if when i spoke to FC last week they had told us this was the case, rather than tell us all was okay and would open as planned!
We were due to go in August and according to FC statement they are going to contact people by there departure date - somehow i dont feel prepared to wait until the end of august to establish what they are going to offer me instead!!!
Please let me know how you get on with FC and what they are prepared to offer you by means of compensation and alternative holiday accomodation. FC state they will try to ensure an alternative holiday and where possible of a higher standard is offered - unless it is AI and at no extra cost i am not in a position to accept anything else - are you?

FC have known about this surely for at least a week before you were due to go but to tell you a day before you go.
Was it just luck that you notice the post on FC website or have any of you been called by FC.
Been on hold to FC for 1/2 hour now!
They are offering 20% compensation but I am personally not happy with this and on my return will take the matter further. We fly out 20.45 today but not with FC!!!! They are supposed to be ringing me back this morning but we will be left for the airport before they get back to us. By offering you just one alternative choice is only helping them fill a hotel they have been unable to fill and totally unacceptable.
I'm not going to the KABC, but I've been watching developments on the forum since seeing the BBC program.
I was so pleased for everybody when it seemed that it would open for the people going on 1st July.
I just can't believe that First Choice have treated people so appallingly by announcing they are pulling out at such a late stage.
We work all year for our holidays and to be treated in such a cavalier way is disgraceful.
I've found that the way you phrase your complaint has a lot to do with how far you get.
Is it possible for a lot of people to get together through this forum and contact Ros Fernihough (through the link provided) and mount a massive en-bloc complaint?
I do hope that everyone who has been disappointed (although I'm sure that this word does not in any way describe how you're feeling) finds an alternative holiday and has a great time wherever you go.

What a nighmare for all of you due to go soon and anyone due to go this year!
I feel for the people who do not have access to the internet and turn up at airport to find they have been changed to a different hotel.
Here we go again!!
I have been offered £150 per person including the free children & 20% compensation but all this is going to be swallowed up with the price of the new holiday. I think they should cover the cost of the holiday and give us the compensation. Way back when all this started I was told that any holiday I choose would be back dated to the day I booked the original holiday but now they are saying that is not the case - again I will not accept this and will be taking this a lot further!
Decided to look further afield, ended up with an awesome all Inc in Cuba which would of cost over £1k more for no extra from me,plus an instant credit back to my debit card of 10% off the aqua park holiday as well. Yes i know Cuba has some rain at that time of yr, however having lived in Miami i can state the rain fall is usually very very heavy for 1-2hrs mid pm then blue skies again. So not gonna cause any probs for us.
I am going out now on the 27th July rather than 26th, so all is good, will definately write to FC but at same time write to praise the completely fantastic service i have had from one of their members of staff, Susan Fradley.

Chippenham, you may be satisfied but had slightly longer to go than a lot of us here. With 1 day to go I am totally dissatisfied they have absolutely nothing to offer.
