Ok basically, we cant change, we are going for 10 days and they have nothing available for us on any date in June, we have to upgrade to 14 nights which would cost us another £900, which to be honest we havent got this close to our holiday, we are saving our spending money which is hard enough

We are told we will have to wait to be cancelled that is the best advice they can give, then when they cancel us they would have to find us accomodation with no extra cost even if it meant a sister company or outside tour operator.

They are still adamant that KABC will open on 24th May, their last update was thursday and all is still on target.

With regards to watersports being pulled, she was just sorry ffs, apparantly PP have also had their watersports pulled now too.

We asked for our phone call today to be recorded on our file, with our requests for change of accomodation turned down and our concerns and worries over a complex that wont be finished, so that when they do cancel us we will be given a good decent standard accomodation at their expenses, this was agreed.

So now as it stands right now we are still going to KABC, ive no enthusiasm for it and feel FC have really let us down.

Thanks for that number Michelle, just got through and they have agreed to change us FOC because of the Flight Time change (this is an ABTA major change) and have agreed we can alter to 14 nights somewhere else instead of the 10 we had booked at KABC. (I pointed out that 10 night holidays more difficult to obtain, that's why we booked last August) Just got to finalise where now.

Michele it's sad to see you've lost your enthusiasm, you've been so positive all along.

Sorry you couldn't change your holiday but try to be positive - You will be going away on your well deserved holiday. It may not be the one you were originally planning, but if you are to be cancelled, it's FC that have got to do all that searching for a new fantastic holiday for you (and the rest of us!!!)

And if you do get to Kos ABC - as long as there's the sun, food, drink, sunbed and a pool to cool down in (oh, a bed would be quite good too!!!) what more can you ask for!!

it seems that we are all getting the same response from first choice, it will be finished on time, the watersports being cancelled is not down to them, and if we change our holiday now then we will have to pay to change,
i will never book with first choice again

Hello All

Well I have been watching the board for a while now, we go on 28th June, I have just emailed FC asking them to confirm any changes to me in writing. There are 5 of us inc children and as with you all I don't want to get there and find it a shambles.

I have received no notification from FC about any changes so hopefully they will reply to me asap as I mentioned to them the outstanding amount for the holiday is due next week.

Thanks to all who are feeding us back the info they are getting and if I managed to get a reply I will let you all know, otherwise I agree with everyone else lets try to remain positive and hope that for those of us there at the same time we can all meet up for a few drinks and have a good giggle about all this

Liz - I really dont understand how they are changing you from 10 nights to 14 night and not us, we even mentioned the 12 hours flight change, did you sign the accept this when it was sent out last month? because we did and thats why they wont do anything about that now. Good luck finding somewhere, as our advisor said that PP had nothing for June, fueteventura caleda dorada had 1 room available we needed 2, tenerife nothing, cyprus nothing, crete - 5* premier so wouldnt even consider changing us to that, everything else ie Titanic beach (which we would have loved) is 14 nights only and an increase of nearly £2000 for us.

Julie - your right as long as the sun is belting down from a clear blue sky, the pool is finished, the food is edible, the drink - well the drink is cold and wet and lots of, we will be ok, if anything we will all pull together to make it a good holiday, remember I have my holiday truths michellefromessex tshirt so look out for me!

Forgot to say in my earlier post that they wouldnt honour my free child place that I got back in April 05, they play it there way dont they, I feel that I show be charged for a replacement holiday based on the brochure price I booked from.

We have the same problem as you Michelle, My husband and I have booked, and so have my Mum dad and two littles sisters. When we were looking for alternatives for the 17th June there is nothing with 2 rooms. We haven't even had the flight change communicated to us yet, it was only on the off chance that the travel agent mentioned it when we tried to book late checkout. Before we found this site we were trying to book an extra night through FC,as our flight now doesn't leave til almost 7am, and late checkout is 6pm!!! I was told there was no availability for another night, but I have a feeling that if we do end up at KABC this will no longer be a problem!!!!
Anyway we will be there for 11 nights from 17th June, so I think a few bevvys is definately a plan if you end up going!

We never signed to accept the flight change, also we'd paid for room upgrade at KABC so package was costing us £2300 for which there are still a few options available.

As your date is later I would still hope that the KABC is up and running as per the brochure by then. I have been assured that the Kids Club will be of the same standard as the Warner Branded ones, and am awaiting an Email from Customer Services who were chasing up in Resort re. progress of the build. Will give detail as soon as I recieve it. Spoke to a friend who went to Corfu on a new build FC property a couple of years ago and they said everything was great.

We've jumped ship mainly 'cos we didn't want to be first set of guests before any teething problems sorted, and with dep. date 24th May, not got much time to get alternative if FC cancel in the next week or so.

Thank god for that!!

I rang customer services this morning (the lady was really helpfull) and we have transferred our holiday from KABC to Egypt Coral Sea Resort. We still got two free child places, and we paid no admin fees, although we have had to pay more for the Coral sea Resort as we are now going the 24th July rather than 19th July, but we are now not taking the kids out of school. There are 8 of us in our party, 4 adults 4 children. It has cost us an extra £300 but going almost a week later to a hotel that has fabulous reports - and is built.
I wish all of you a happy holiday wherever you end up this year, i just wasn't prepared to run the risk of either getting cancelled and ending losing out on a hoilday i have worked all year round for, or even worse getting there and holidaying on a building site.

well, like most of you who can't change i too am either just going to wait to see if they cancel me or go along and hope for the best. After all we should hopefully know what to expect by then from any of you 24th Mayers.(that are still holding on anyway!)
The kids club and creche is really the main thing for me as i would like a break from the kids for a few hours (sounds horrible doesn't it) but of course everything else matters aswell.
If they were to cancel me (for 14th June) i am thinking about getting a full refund from them (which they have to do) and going to a different holiday company. After all im sure there are many companies out there with many different types of hols left. Why should i stay with first ch and let them keep my money after all the bother they have caused.

I've just spoken to Customer Services at First Choice and they told me that all watersports are still available at per the brochure, eg pedaloes, banana boats, ringos etc. I thought other have been told that they have been cancelled? I am really confused now!! I asked about what our position is regarding changing our holiday and was told to ring Administration, which I am going to try to do now.

For those of you that have booked up to go to this resort, I have been told it is going to be absoloutely fantastic.
I am an Entertainer for First Choice and I will be working at the property for Summer 2006.
I fly out on 10th May, as we need time to set up the entertainment ready for our guests

I have never worked in Kos before, I have been in Ibiza for 2 years, and I am told that the weather in Kos is beautiful.

Well folks, you won't be bored of the entertainment we have got lined up for you, and this year in conjunction with a London based production company, we have 2 brand new shows we are performing

Rehersals have been tough, but the end product is spectacular.

For any ne who has had flights changed - what airport were you flying from and what date?

I am trying to find a loop hole to allow us to get our money back. My hubby says the changes should mean that we get a refund and while he aint a lawyer he does specialise in contracts.

However the latest news about the watersports being available may mean something different.

Regarding the watersports etc, its on first choice website that these are no longer available.

When you input a make shift booking before you complete it advises that the pedalos etc are not longer available?

thanks for that Matt, can we rely on you to give us an honest opinion when you arrive as to the state of the place? Be fab if you could post on here as to what is finished or not ect?
I have been to travel agents today and no hope of them cancelling us as they say its all on track for the 24th May, so I am going to just think positive thoughts and not worry anymore about it.
