happy Mothers day girlies......well i haven't bought a thing for holiday...i'm going through the i'm so fat mode at the moment.....but hey i'm a small 14 so i should be praising myself for stopping smoking...it will be a year on April 4th! I'm going to buy a new bikini I don't care...if you don't like what you see don't bother looking is what i say. I'm going on holiday to relax and its not a beauty contest!!! (Well i hope it isn't girls!!)
Suppose I should get into this holiday mood.....think i will go and order the kiddies some bits......retail therapy thats the trick...and just "one" more piece of chocolate!!!

hi all, another new anxious traveller here. Seems like the only pictures of build work available at the mo is that of kefalonia, and a few members are thinking its kos. Twelve of us travelling in july. four adults and eight kids ageing from 7 to 15, you have been warned :yikes We'll be travelling up from weymouth and flying from bristol, so anyone travelling on the same flight and reading this should find us easily as the airport  Done the SC, HB and FB so thought we'd try the all inclusive this time, was a bit worried about booking at a newbuild and as the months go by and payup time draws nearer, didn't realise just how much! From reading the small print at the back of the brochure i see that after checking out of our rooms the all inclusive deal become null and void, suppose we better take some money then ha ha  Like a few others i've given up smoking and my ever expanding waistline is now becoming rather anoying. Took 2 of my children into town to buy the new England footie tops and thought i'd try on a few bikinis found the experience quite shocking  Bought myself some gym equipment, well it'll be something else to dust and maybe that'll burn off a few calories

That's good news, thanks lisa. I hear that kos airport isn't too great, does anyone have any info, just thinking, as most of us will be passing through in the middle of the night and feeling groggy. After our last holiday resulted in an 8 hour delay :rage ameneties can become quite important. Never been to any of the greek islands before and am really looking forward to it, will have to try and learn a few words of the lingo, no doubt i'll come out with "dos colas por favor " :whoops at least once during the holiday.

Hi there!
I have been to Kos Airport BUT it was 11 years ago when I went on an 18-30 holiday with my (then) boyfriend who is now my husband. So it was a drunken pass through both going out there and coming back. As long as there are loos and a drinks machine/cafe I should be okay.
However, I'm now trying to decide if I needed a late check-out room as flight leaves at 03.50 on 4 June. So is night of 3 June my last (and so no late check-out needed), or is 2 June?

Looks like we might pass mid air or in an airport, we set out on the 26 july for 2 weeks. Not so bad arriving late at night but from experience not good travelling with children through the night :bhead

mrsgaz, your last night is 2nd June, you will have to vacate room by 10am (or midday cant remember the first choice policy) on the 3rd june, then basically hang around until coach pick up which will be around midnight - 1am (4th june) depending on order of collection. Its best to get a late checkout (if there are any available now) so you can have that until 9pm which means after tht last day in the sun you have somewhere to shower and dress for journey home, ive always coped fine with kids and coming home on late flights as they are so tired out from the last day they normally sleep in the lounge area sleep on the coach, sleep in the airport and hopefully on the plane too. Also ive been all inclusive twice and although we have checked out at whatever time our all inclusive is still valid as you still have your wrist bands on, we came home and forgot to take them off for 2 days lol. :D

AIRPORT INFO

I was in Kos last year. The airport building is fine and a little cramped but not as bad as Zante where you have to queue outside.

There is is duty free and bars there so no need to worry!!

Hi, I'm new to this forum.
Ther are 3 of us going to the (hopefully completed Kos aqua beach club) on the 28th June for 1 week. We have a 7 year old daughter who is on her own and usually by the time she has made friends on holiday it's time to nearly time to leave. Is anyone else going to be there then with a girl of a similar age?

P.S. even I am trying to cut down on my chocolate intake

Hi everyone

I am also new to this forum. Have been reading the developments with the hotel and seems like everything is going to plan so just keeping my fingers crossed everything will be ready when we all start arriving!

We travel on 21 June for 2 weeks. Four of us in total including a 8 year old and 2 year old (both girls). -eldest is similar age to your daughter Nigel.

Both our girls love swimming so I hope the pools are all done as they look impressive in the brochure.

Can't wait til we go now - good luck everyone with the exercising - I know how you feel as I am running the london marathon for charity this year and it is killing me! I don't even enjoy running (in fact i hate it) but have always wanted to do it so finally decided to go for it.

Can't wait until my hols as at least I know i don't have to run anymore!
