Hi,
Last year it was quite a trek from the airport to the station, then lots of steps to the platform.
Can anyone who has recently used the train let me know if it is any better and if there is a lift to the platform.
Also, does anyone know if there is a lift at Arroya for Benalmadena.
Thanks
Jean

Hi Jean Yes, walked that way a few weeks ago and it is still a bit of a trek. No lift up to platform from ticket-machine level.
I am 99.9% certain that there is a lift at Arroyo de la Miel station.

You can take your baggage trolley all the way from the airport baggage re-claim hall to the railway station ticket machines level. There are 16 steps up to the platform at the airport station and there is an escalator and a lift at Arroyo / Benalmadena station.

Single adult fare a couple of weeks ago was €1.45 per person.

Hi

Going to Benalmadena in November, can anyone tell me the best option for getting from airport to the Bali hotel'
How easy is it to get from Malaga airport to the Bali hotel, should we get the train at the airport and get of at benalmadena train station and walk or get a taxi from the train station to the hotel or just get a taxi from the airport direct to the hotel
Any options and cost would be welcomed.

Thanks

An airport taxi will cost you €24 - €27 depending on the time of day (surcharge late at night and on public holidays).

A local train from the airport to Arroyo/Benalmadena station will cost €1.45 (single adult fare). A local taxi from outside Arroyo station to the Bali will cost €5 - €6. It is possible to walk the three quarters of a mile to the Bali but it could be a bit off a struggle if you have a lot of luggage.

Hello, were going to Malaga, Fuengirola in early November. Were getting train transfers as it's a lot cheaper!
I was just wondering if anyone knows how far the fuengirola train station is from the La jabega hotel? I think it's right near Los Bolliches (spelling?) and we can get off at that stop. If anyone could help I'd REALLY appreciate it as I can't seem to find the info anywhere!

Thanks
Melissa

Thanks, I couldn't find the map where it shows the hotel location. I could find the hotel website! Anyway thanks a lot.

The hotel location map is on that website and it shows the route (a blue dotted line) from Los Boliches train station to the hotel.

The train has always been the best, quickest and cheapest way to get to and from the airport.. and if there's a group of, say, four of you, its always a great lever when you call a cab in one of the resorts to take you to the station... when they see your luggage, they invariably quote you a cheaper than the standard rate to their airport. 20-30 euro between four is better than humping bags on and off the train and, as someone has observed, there's still a two-day camel ride to the terminal building.

can anyone tell me how far it is on the train from malaga airport to holiday village costa de sol benimadena please also how many stops before we get their. : thanks

From the airport to benalmadena is seven stops, the price is 1.55 euros. Think it takes about 15/20 mins.

There's a lot of re-building work going on at the airport train station at the moment with only one platform in use for trains going in both directions. Make sure you get on a train going in the direction of Fuengirola.

I thought Arroyo/Benalmadena was the 8th stop counting from the airport but I may be wrong. Which ever it is, you want the stop after El Pinillo. There are announcements in Spanish and English as the train approaches each station.

From the airport..........
Airport
San Julian
Plaza Mayor
Los Alamos
La Colina
Torremolinos
Montemar Alto
El Pinillo
Benalmadena/Arroyo de Miel
Torremuelle
Carvajal
Torreblanca
Los Boliches
Fuengirola.

Benalmadena/Arroyo de Miel, is the stop you want.

The nearest station to the Holiday Village is Carvajal.

Yes, but there is no taxi rank there, and getting down to the main road from the station (even taking the lift down a level) is a bit of a "humph".
Best to take the train to Benalmadena/Arroyo de la Miel, and pick up a taxi outside.
