hcafc_laura,
The recommended check-in time is 2 hours before your flight departs for short haul and 3 hours for long haul. There's a few food / drink outlets once you get in the departure lounge. Refer to my post above to juby 5 regarding trains.

Bewleys is 5 mins walk from Terminal 1 or you can use their free shuttle !
It's £8.95 for your breakfast in the hotel but we like the BAR MCR Breakfast at £6.95. On your left at the top of the escalators up to food court - order at the bar.
Here's the menu

Thanks Darren and Steve for the info, steve, I already went ahead and booked my train tickets before I saw your post, 'doh' on my part !! hopefully guys all will go to plan, plane landing on time, suitcases being first off carousel, dizzy me finding train station !! fingers crossed for me !!!!
Has anyone parked at Handforth Dean with Airparks. We are considering this option this year as we return at silly o clock and cannot for shame ask anyone to pick us up from the airport. We are flying from T2.
HI, thanks for the enquiry you car is left at your own risk but your car would be stored in our compound which is surrounded by a brick wall and security cameras regards Rxxxs
ive always used the shuttle park at manchester, and take my keys with me
does anyone know which terminal we need in oct going to sharm el sheikh with viking airlines
DebbieCambs,
thanks
I had before and since then left it in the Flight Shuttle Services ( F.S.S ) long stay park in Style rd , a few minutes from manchester airport....who provide a shuttle bus too and from airport....they take your keys and park your car in a secure compound....patroled by guard dogs 24/7....and surrounded by an electrified fence...I have had great service and no damage to my car whilst in their care......to me it is peace of mind....hubby cant loose the keys ....and being parked up by a man who spends most of his working hours doing just that....parking and unparking mine and every other car....seems safer to me than other drivers in a rush to catch a flight or tired after a long flight trying to do the same......probably with a tired wife and a few fractious children as well....perfect recipe for a bump
They take your keys now for security reasons now as well....if a car goes on fire in the car park and your in tenerife or somewhere else nice and comfie by the pool with a cocktail no one can move your car and other cars whose owners also parked and took their keys.....with so many unmovable cars many will be lost to the fire before tow trucks could manage to move them far enough away.
I feel safe leaving my care and keys here....and they are lovely to deal with too......really down to earth and friendly.....dont know if it is but it feels like a family run firm.....have booked them again for this years holidays....£33 for a week...cheap for peace of mind
do you have a web address for this as we havent flown from manchester before and its good to get a recommendation
Ive used them many times and wouldnt go anywhere else...have tried others and not felt as easy as when I have used these....probably some one else will post different....but I can only tell you about my experiences with them
thanks will look into it, although another option is we might see if there is a hotel including parking close to airport that is cheapish aswell, if we decide to go night before,
Debbie cambs....just checked that site....and they have special offer on....£26 something for the week if booked on line...never done it this way...could have saved some money if Id known....hope you get sorted and have a lovely holiday...tweetie
I have just had an email from Holiday Extras saying that Premier (car) Park, Manchester Airport is not taking bookings for parking after June 6. Luckily we are getting a free transfer to the long-term car park on the airport. If you have booked at Premium I should make sure that other arrangements have been made for you.
Does anybody know if Manchester Airport Terminal 2 have a smoking area airside like East Midlands airport now do?
There's no smoking at all in Manchester Airport other than designated areas outside the front of the terminal buildings. Smokers normally check-in, stock up on nicotine then go through security. Just make sure you leave enough time to get through security before your fight leaves at peak times.
Darren
Thanks for the information. Im sure my sister will be disappointed now.
thanks for that posting z.j.c......and for the info dazbo......I knew Id forgot something....taking hubby for surprise 50th....on a 4 hr flight to gran caneria and want to check in and through security handy as am a worrier.....so will need take a nicotine patch incase ....he might be ok....but I cant tell him to have a last fag before we go through security as hoping to con him right up to the boarding gates....
i always use aph at manchester and have no problems leaving my keys with them, the first time we went with them we were halfway to the airport when i realise id left my mobile in my car, the lovely driver turned around and went back so i could get it. quite reasonably priced too
I agree with you there. I use APH most of the time and always found them to offer good service for the money. They have some new coaches / minbusses now as well that are a bit more comfortable than the old ones! Having used some of the Airpark ones closer to the airport, APH look more secure and you don't have to wade through the puddles / mud either! They drop you closer to the terminals too.
