Whilst in Candolim recently I enquired about the building of a Mcdonalds in Calangute, there seems no real basis for this theory, no one I have spoken to has heard of a Mcdonalds being opened, and I saw no evidence of one, although there are a lot of coffee shops opening.

The "Mcdonalds" is actually an extension to "Neelams The Grand", or so I'm led to believe. The site itself is shielded off (or was last time I saw it) behind tin sheets with "Kingfisher" logo's painted all over them.....I seriously doubt that Mcdonalds would advertise Kingfisher on their premises??

I protest! This area was always used as the MOT testing station for the local cows! Well this is what we called it - every Saturday the local herdsmen brought there cows there to have there hooves trimmed - not any more - obviously!
I would imagine the cows will keep well away from that spot now (if the rumours are true and it does turn out to be McDonalds)!!!
