I'm Michele, looking forward to returning to Goa again for my 5 Christmas/New Year - 8 weeks today YIPPEE :D

Our first time staying at Marinha Dourada and really looking forward to it, up until this year we have always stayed at Sun Village - only due to the fact that we got so friendly with everyone there but having had 3 years of not using the All Inclusive apart from drinks have decided we really must try another - so it's down the road for us this year!

My first trip to Goa I really couldn't make up my mind what I thought - it was scary to begin with, the airport porters, the way sellers accousted you and the complete different way of life took some getting used. But on my return to England I realised that Goa had worked her magic and was totally under my skin and I can't settle until I know that I am booked to return.

I can't believe how a place and it's people can get to you so much, that you think of them everyday.

We have made some good friends over there and I can't wait to get back.

Me, my wife and another couple are heading to Goa on 3rd November for the first time. Stopping in Candolim. Woo-hoo! We're a bit nervous (read the thread about baggage handlers, persistent beach sellers and rabid dogs) but cannot wait now! :D

One thing to remember:
NEVER EVER tell a beach seller that you'll look:
'later', 'tomorrow', 'maybe', 'perhaps'

They'll remember you and pester the life put of you every time they see you.

They are very good at trying to have the last word, saying 'you look tomorrow, OK?'.
I always smile and say 'No' or shake my head as we walk away.

You'll absolutely love it, we're going back next February for the 6th time.

not to sure where we are staying as it is acomadation on arival but we have done this before in greece and its turned out ok.
to tell you the truth i am very wary of goa as i have read so much of the place dont do this, dont do that etc.
but everyone says its fantastic etc and they are proberly right.
anyway got my visa yesterday so its just a matter of waiting lol
i have been in touch with rob and got a extra case full of childrens clothes to take and filling mine with some christmas stuff etc.
i decieded to leave the malaria tabs as i read quite a few reports on you dont need them etc.
theres so much i would like to ask?
especialy about a driving licence as mine is the old paper on bit worn and tatterd how can i get a international one for while im away.
anyway thought i would say hello

Download international driving permit form from the RAC website. Print it, fill it in and send it to the address on the top of the form. Dont worry, you will love the place. You can buy malaria tabs in Goa at any pharmacy at a fraction of the price if you change your mind. Good luck and welcome to the forum.
