Hi, have been a member for a few months now. I have posted a few things and have been really busy reading all the wonderful information all of the other members have to offer. Thought it was about time I introduced myself!

I live in Plymouth with my partner of 18 years (not married yet!) and my dog, Barney. Work for local council!!

Have been flitting between the Goa and America forum. Off to the States in January (Las Vegas, San Francisco and Maui) and Goa in April.

Like to travel as much as possible and been lucky enough to see quite a few places. First trip to Goa and can't wait. Whole family going for my parents 25th wedding anniversary. There are 24 of us!!

Have found out so much information from this website. It's fantastic. A big thank you to everyone who contributes.

Tina (aka Jannerlilly)

Hi Fiona

Will definately do a report on my return. Off on 20th January, not too much longer now! Have been to LV before, a few years ago now. Have been able to offer some advice on the forum about it. No doubt report will be very, very long. Once I get started, there is no stopping me.

Hello Folks,
We are new to HT my name is David and my wife is Jennifer hence the dajen. We started going to Goa back in 1997 ( missed once to visit Langkawi stunning place but lacks the magic of Goa) and stayed up North in Baga, at the The Ronil Beach Hotel it was pretty basic but very clean fabulous food and very friendly staff especially Elvis smashing young lad always ready to attend to your every needs. Since that first visit we have always stayed in the South, our favorite haunt now is Cavelossim it ticks all the boxes for us. We hire a scooter for the time we are there, we love to set off in the morning to wherever our fancy takes us, we always find somewhere new and interesting, then its back to the resort for lunch at one of our favorite places, usually Bettys shack, it serves good food always good company and the beach beds are sound and clean.
Off again 19th Jan 2007 boring beggars arn't we!

Hi. My name is Louise and I am married to Stuart and have 2 children, Lauren 3 and Matthew 5. We first went to Goa in Feb 1999 with friends Shaun and Jacqui (before the children!) then again Feb 2005 when Lauren was only 22 months. Hard work on the flight but great once we arrived! :D

Going again in Feb 07 with my parents who will be going for the first time. Staying at Marinha Dourada this time. We have stayed at Carmo Lobo and the Cavala in previous years.

Debating now about malaria tablets seeing as the advice has changed but worried about the children. My dad gets bitten wherever he goes so think that he should take them! :yikes

Is anyone else going to the Marinha Dourada Feb 11th?

Hope to see some of you there!

Hi my name is Geoff and I've just joined the Forum after discovering it a few weeks back.
I live in London and the only other surviving member of my close family is my eldery mother who lives in Suffolk.
I do have two "adopted" families here in London, one with local origins, the other originally coming from Gujarat in India who settled in London 20 years ago.
My earliest recollection of Goa was from my late father's stamp collection and a member of my local London adopted family visiting there in 1984.
Until a few years back other parts of the World had occupied my attention, most of my travels were for work to non-tourist destinations. After 34 years of work I took early retirement in 2002.
Over New Year 2003/4 I was invited by my Gujarati "family" to their daughter's wedding in Gujarat. Having not visited India before I decided to make a longer tour of it and stayed on after the wedding. I did a tour by train to Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Udiapur. My flight back home was from Bombay so I decided to leave Gujarat a few days early and spend a weekend in Goa before returning home. My "family" have friends who run a travel agency in Bombay and they booked all the train trips and hotels for me. They took my request for "good hotels" as being 4 or 5 star and in Goa they got me at weekend at the Taj Holiday Village. Needless to say I instantly fell in love with Goa and decided to return on a regular basis.
In January 2005 I returned for two weeks at the Taj and this was the first time I'd ever travelled on a package tour or on a charter flight.
In January/February 2006 I went back again, this time to Gujarat for January and Goa for February. Because I planned the two trips separately and I was travelling with different people to Goa, I ended up travelling by air from Bombay to Goa via Gatwick and Heathrow with a short stopover back home. I stayed again at the Taj (despite the price!) and my friends on a lower budget stayed at the Dona Alcina in Candolim.
During this trip we got caught by the timeshare scratch-card guys in the street in Candolim. At first I would not have anything to do, but my friends said we should go along with them if only for a free bottle of wine. A few hours later we somehow found ourselves signing up for two separate timeshares, one for me, one for my two friends. I had looked at the deal offered and found even if the hype was only partly true that I'd make a "profit" in four years over staying at the Taj.
So, in November 2006 I took up the first of my timeshare allocations - one week at the Royal Palms in Benaulim and one week at the Royal Goan at Monterio on the Baga River.
I'm now booked for three weeks back at the Royal Palms in Benaulim in just over two weeks time from 3rd February.
I've quite a few comments on some of the existing threads so hope I can contibute to some of them without being too much of a Newbee pain.

:D Hi All i hope im doing thos right! I have read this forum everyday since my first day back from Goa in Jan 05. My other half has been to goa for a month every year for the past 6 years, and now ive caught the bug! We usually stay in Calagute, but as the soon to be inlaws have moved and retired from the uk to near Colva in the south we have stayed there on our most recent visit in April 06. We are going back on 16th March 07 if anyone fancies meeting up??? either north or south??

Hope to get some replies or questions?
