Which banks are not charging an ATM withdrawal fee this year?
Cheers.
Papa
Whilst in Goa I used a debit card at HDFC, Bank of Baroda and Axis Bank, Nationwide charged me on 10,000 INR
None-UK Commission fee of £2.50 to £2.60 (depending on exchange rate)
None-UK Cash withdrawal fee of £1.00
HDFC Bank showed a message on screen that none Indian cards would be charged 200 INR per transaction but Nationwide did not charge this, exchange rate was 76 to 78 in Jan/Feb
What I found interesting was that although I could not withdraw more that 10,000 INR I could make 2 withdrawals for the same amount at the same time
Is there any way ack in the uk we can take advantage of it?

If you can stay for six months you can get a bank account and then you can pay in also or transfer.
But if we are in the uk is there any way of taking advantage of the rate?

Last time we were there the rate was barely upto 70rps

Depending on when your going you could get an ICICI bank repaid travel card. Load up last 170 days but can only load up 50,000r max ! (about £560) Could get one each though.
The Pound Rate is still good at 1.00 GBP = 86.0197 INRs
chilly
Rate still very good compared to last season. 3 days ago we got 85.50 rps to pound
Has anyone been and used their ICICI travelcard yet?

Just wondered how much spare cash to take if it fails
Cheers
Steve
Would suggest just make sure your bank balance is in good order so you can make withdrawals through your debit/credit card. Sorry if this seems an obvious response.
