if folks on mobiles can't access forums then it doesn't matter how good they are
Ah Fiona, Brian is talking about taptalk an app to make browsing on a mobile easier, you dont actually see any HT styling, where as your are trying to access the site in your browser.

One of the posts was from Fiona and the other was mine which was just an emoticon in appreciation of Fiona's sense of humour.
I don't know if posts are being lost as a result of a glitch or if they've been deleted but I would have thought that, if they had been deleted, someone would have had the courtesy to let us know together with a reason.
Having taken a few days to have a good look around, I am starting to get my bearings, especially as improvements are being made on a daily basis.
Just want to ask about the icons at the side of the thread titles. I understand the one for 'locked' but there are 3 others that all say 'unanswered post' when I hover over them. One is in the shape of a bell (that's what it looks like to me lol), another is a sort of rectangular speach bubble and the third one is exactly like the rectangular speach bubble but it has a blue blob or square inside it. Can you tell me what all these mean please?
In the old HT when I used to 'view new posts' I just had a smilie next to the ones I hadn't read.
Thanks
Some icons are missing or incorrect. MarkJ already bought out attention to them in the main thread we asked people to post in.
I've just been browsing in the general section and there appears to be posts from 2006, 07 & 10 in the middle of the 2012 posts. Can I also ask about the "view active posts" button. I often used to use this to see what topics members were actively participating in. However when I press it now, I'm just getting something about Facebook. Thank you
I thought I'd posted in the "please tell us any issues thread?"
No, but we have moved it now for you.

Chris, sorry for posting in the wrong topic. I didn't realise there were icons missing and incorrect so I didn't post it where you wanted to know about issues as I didn't consider it a site issue that I didn't know what the icons meant.

Helen,
I guess it is easily done as there never used to be a "new topic" button when viewing a topic, only a "post reply" button.
Mark
It's only now I've noticed the two buttons Thank you
Where can i find my pm message inbox? Im hoping theres still a message i need from a couple of months ago..
chrisweaving, the pm facility has been disabled for now until the admin and mods get a chance to re-instate it.
PM's should go back on tonight

Just a query Chris- why is there a 'new topic' button whilst we are reading a particular topic. I think it's a bit confusing. Obviously we need the 'new topic' button within a forum for us to start new threads but once we're reading and posting in the actual thread, we shouldn't be starting a new topic within that topic should we? Don't know if I'm explaining it properly
We are currently running a fresh 'out the box' Phpbb forum install. Many things like the new topic button are part of the defualt code and is one of the things we will need to change according to meet our members needs. We are already discussing the matter re the strange topic button placement!
Helen what you're referring to are the 'stickies' at the top of the forums e.g. in general you'll find a list of stickies at the top. They have been posted by the mod of the forum and will be dated when they were posted. Underneath the last sticky will be the welcome message from the mod and then underneath that, all the members posts appear in correct date order

Should this be Bedfordshire?? It's in the drop down and a number of other places too.
Doh, Thanks Kristell
Blimey, I shall need to wear sunglasses when I'm on here now.
