Thanks Callum that will be appreciated, have a fab holiday
Thanks Shell, and I must agree with you too. We went to Zante about 5 years ago where there are lots of ferrel dogs and one couple were taking photos of the dogs 'parcels' so that they could claim when they got back to the UK. Poor, sad individuals. And think what interesting snapshots they would have to show their friends!!!!!! That's if they had any. Anyway away from the negative and I'm sure we will all have a fantastic time And to Paul (I think) .

I really can't understand some people, how very sad. I'm sure some people would claim if the sky wasn't the right shade of blue as in the brochure

I would hate to think people dont give honest opinions of what 'they thought' about somewhere and just made it up that they were happy with everything. I would rather be informed.
after all this ia what the forum is about. Sorry if I offended anyone. I liked the hotel, yes somethings could have been different, no im not a moaner and like to have a good time.
By the way....has mikey the spikey haired rep gone????????
I stayed in a hotel in Cyprus a couple of years ago and was extremely dissapointed with it for the money we had paid, having said that I pointed out in my review all the negatives we found with the hotel but also listed all the positves. I just feel some people can't bring themselves to do that so they just rubbish every aspect of it.
Regards

we found that there were parts, like under the water slides and the beach area, that could have been cleaner....saying that , on the beach it was down to lazy individuals, who could not be bothered clearing up cig stubbs, cups and food after themselves. Other areas rooms etc, were imaculate. we enjoyed the food, although i still maintain, two of our party had food poisoning from the rice, so wold avoid it at all costs, but this could happen anywhere, we thought the staff were lovely (apart from mikey the hotel rep)
just getting prices for next year, full age range from 8 to 41, including teenagers, reports this year, i think are looking good. hopefully there wont be the stomach bug like last year but we are not booking till november
Hi Nadine66 Sorry if my last post caused offence It is very much appreciated when people take the time to post a review, so long as it is the truth. But how 7 people can give the hotel a very good review and then one give one totally at the other end of the scale is a puzzle. Most of the reviewers say that the hotel staff and the reps are very helpful and friendly. Then we get one saying the complete opposite. Maybe if this was true, it may have been the way they were treated themselves that caused this reaction. I for one though will be going with an open mind and expect to have a super time and hope that everyone else will too
seven weeks tomorrow, 42 days!!!! cannot wait. I agree, a holiday is what you make it, if youre a moaner at home then you'll probably be a moaner when you're away. Im just grateful for someone else doin the cooking and cleaning
Well I childmind my Niece does that count
More importantly myself, my hubby and my 10 year old daughter are taking our first ever holiday abroad in Petra Mare, we fly out on 21st June from Birmingham. It is great to find this website as we need all the help and tips we can get with it being our first holiday overseas.
We have read lots of bad stuff about this hotel so it is good to read all the positive stuff on this site. I am a professional kids entertainer so I hope the entertainment is not as bad as I have read, but most importantly hope everyone there is really friendly so if the entertainment is poor we can all have a laugh anyway!
Any tips for our first holiday abroad would be really appreciated - no matter how trivial it may seem, all tips are gratefully received.
Thanks
Strange isn't it how birds of a feather flock together? And dizzylizzy - maybe you can give the entertainment team a few tips if they aren't up to standard!!! I've never been to Crete before, but been abroad a few times and the mozzies are a problem. Last year I took some Avon soft and sensual dry oil spray and squirted a bit on before going out in the evening and I didn't get one bite, even though the little blighters attacked many other people. So if you can get your hands on some it's worth a try. Also I used P20 sun lotion on my daughter who's 8 and that kept her from burning. I did apply factor 30 as well on her shoulders and made her cover up between 11am and 3pm, but she didn't suffer. Will you let us know how you enjoyed your hols when you get back?? Hope you have a good one.
As for the entertainment I would love to do something but I dont think it is the done thing - how do you think the chefs would feel if a holiday maker went into the kitchens and told then how to start cooking or if a receptionist went onto the reception and showed them how they would do it, nah think I'll be keeping quiet about the fact that I am an entertainer whilst I am there. You never know I might learn something new from them.
My dad went to Cyprus recently and there you cant flush things down the toilet is that the case in Crete?
Thanks again, much appreciated
Lizzie
Hi Lizzie, I've just checked it out on the web and apparently you can't flush paper down the toilets.
we only had a problem with the one rep, the rest were lovely, he wasnt a family person and totally unsympathetic when the illness struck, thats when you could actually find him, there are a couple of opinions about him on this site, and another popular review site, i think they work out about fifty fifty, lots of people had a problem with his attitude, could go into it more, but dont want to bore you,
im sure anyone going will have a great time......and thank you to the moaners, because its best to be prepared.... after all you pay your money and take your chances, in this case not a great amount of money, for a very good place, we are deff going next year....better the devil you know ......just hope the maldives lives up to expectations for our honeymoon
