For the Marmaris area all you really need is Hepatitis A and Tetanus.
Thats all we have had for the past 8 years.
Or just ring your local health centre for more up to date information.

i have not had any injections for the last 10 years niether has my wife and kids which are now grown up

Our GP recommended them, HEP? for all and hubby and I had tetanus, diptheria and polio boosters. Our nurse said she recommended the HEP? one even if you go swimming in the UK due to the dirty water. For a few seconds of discomfort I think it worth it to be on the safe side and even the kids aged between 5-10 didn't bat an eyelid.
Some docs reccomend them for at risk patients such as diabetics and such ,having said that i am diabetic and i have been going to turkey twice a year now for the last twelve and never had one ,its an individual choice .If you are going to some of the more remote parts then i would say yes.No need to be scared of needles ,how do you think I feel four jags a day for the last twenty one years

We went to Egypt this year and had our jabs hep, diptheria, polio, tetanus etc as did the kids. Will we need anymore to go to Turkey (Kusadasi)next year??

we had all those to go to dominican republic in may
i think they last about 10 yrs, dont need anymore for turkey,
there is loads of people on here been going to turkey for yrs that haven`t had any

Most people are covered anyway for tetanus,polio and diphtheria so there is no need for any extra jabs for Turkey.
Yes but they need to be done every 10 years to be effective.
We go on 8th August, is there time to get the jabs done or does it need to be done several weeks in advance.

Me and my family had to have injections last week before our trip out there next friday, they were for diptherioa and hepititus A and B and another injection was needed aswel...tetnis shots, my dad has been to Turkey before and never had to recieve injections, many people we know are visiting Turkey this year and hasnt had to get them done, has anyone here had to have them?
Who told you that you had to have them? There is no legal requirement to have injections to enter Turkey - it's a matter of personal choice. A lot of people have them to be on the safe side but lots of people don't have any and are perfectly fine.

We have been going to turkey for 15 years, and by we i mean myself, the wife all the family and all of our friends, got to be somewhere in the region of 70 or so people that have been couintless times snd never had an injection between us.
I think at the doctors there are certain reccomendations, but it is a matter of personal choice, Turkey is not like going to the rain forests or the back end of nowhere where viruses and the like are rife.

When I asked my Doctor he enquired which part of Turkey I was going to, I replied Icmeler a Tourist resort he looked up where it was on his computer and said no Injections are needed for that part of Turkey, Now as that was 4 years ago and since then Injections for Holidays are now Payable to Doctors surgery I think this is bonus money for the Surgery's that advise the public to have them done.
Our Gp recommended them so we all had them, I feel better safe that sorry. It was a good thing I enquired as our olio, tentanus and dyp were overdue and i wouldn't have thought of going otherwise. The nurse told me that she advised that people have the Hep? one even if you swim in the sea in the UK because of the state of our water.
I agree with you Pamplemousse - better safe than sorry, and you can pick up hepatitus anywhere in the world. I and my family have had all the injections recommended by our GP practice.
