Mike R - I was referring to a friend (also a Mike) who arrived in Goa during a thunder storm. After he got unpacked we all trundled down to the beach and settled ourselves in a shack with a long cold drink. A very persistent Massage chap came along offering our friend his services so Our friend thought great this is the life.....Long cold drink and a massage too what more could you want? He sat outside the shack in the cloud having his massage done and oblivious to the suns rays even after being warned several times by me to be careful. Worse than my Mum he says, stop nagging  Later that day he bore the signs of sunburn as his skin literally had little blisters all over and it looked liked bubble wrap. I told you so says I...........Sorry Mum says he, should've listened to you

Big thunderstorm yesterday evening, lightning, rain, power cuts, the works. It's sunny again this morning though. Is this fianlly the end of the monsoon? Who knows?

Hi Fizzy

Thanks for the explaination, it was probably the coconut oil they use for massages that made him burn.

Have a safe journey and will see you at Teama bar on the 13th November.

Hey Phil, that was a thunderstorm and a half, the traffic in Panjim was at a stand still, are you coming to the Teama bar meet up? PM me.

Mike

Sorry if this thread is somewhere else, seem to have lost the plot
Only 4 sleeps to go what is the weather like at the moment?

The sun is shining and it is lovely and warm. It is quite chilly in the early morning until the sun is up and sometimes in the evening. The rain and storms seem to have gone away. Enjoy your holiday.

I'm going to Goa for 10 days at the beginning of Feb, and just wondering is it still really warm at night there? As wondering what clothes I'll need really! Also out of interest what time does it get dark in the evenings?
Cheers :D

It will be really warm in February, you won't need any jackets etc etc to go out in the evenings, it starts getting dark at around 8 to 8.30.

I think you will find the sun sets just after 1830 hrs . Allan. Still warm though no need for jackets etc.

Just a week back, it rained like cats and dogs in Colva.... never heard such loud thunderstorms and people were running helter shelter.... but the adventurous were out in the sea and some just danced drenching themselves in the rain; there was a power outage for about an hour, the shacks lit up candles - the sky went from dark blue to colours unknown and all the dogs took refuge under the tables in the shacks... it was just amazing. The next morning - the sun was up; it was bright and beautiful, there was no rain water on the streets and everything was clean and green....
