well its another day gone and still no visa.
I have even been to the police this morning and explained the situation just incase they are lost/stolen but they can't help.
I phoned ROS FERNIHOUGH the travel solicitor and they say i will have to travel up to the IHC myself and sort it out there.
But i don't know for sure which IHC they are really at one day they say London, the next its birmingham i filled in a visa form for birmingham.
The manager of the YOURTRAVELSHOP was supposed to ring me this morning but did he HECK i rang them and was told again he'll ring you right back Did he heck.
Come on guys/girls what can i do any ideas.
We are down to 6 days now and the IHC don't open till monday i think.
I have pmd you. In addition it is worth describing the whole scenario on our Complaints forum- we have a few experts who may be able to help. Just put down the facts. It is easier to take in and respond
If I was in your position, this is what I would be inclined to do
I would be in the agents shop first thing in the morning, sitting at sales desk asking for an explanation, sandwiches and a flask prepared to sit there till closing or until I received my visas or a satisfactory explanation..
Remind them that you filled in and signed a Birmingham application, so logic would dictate that if it has gone to London on a different application form they must have signed it on your behalf and that's fraud
Whatever you do don't loose your temper with them
(Last year had major problem over fitted kitchen, from a diy company with two initials and & in the middle. It was not going to be fully delivered for another six weeks, problem solved in three hours)
Leave someone at home in case they come in the post
Monday morning at 6 am I would be standing outside the consulate in Birmingham (London) with ID to prove who you are. Receipts, paperwork from the visa agent, travel details and try to sort your problem.
If they promise they are going, arrange to travel with or meet them.
Keep receipts for expenses incurred and try and get your money back from them
Good luck

Oh Sleeps this is awful - I really don't know what you can do apart from visiting the shop in question. I know you live quite a long way away and you shouldn't have to do that but it might be worth it in the long run. Unless there is anybody on the forum that lives quite near and could visit on your behalf to find out what is happening.
I was told by the agent that if you have flight tickets you can meet one of them at consulate and they will get visa on the spot, i dont understand why they dont know which consulate it is at,they have offered a service so you must have a comeback, you must be at your wits end ,im so sorry.
It really is beyond belief that you are now this close to travelling and this agent seems to have let you down so badly. I'm keeping everything crossed for you that this resolves itself quickly.
Good luck
regards
Michele
Sleeps. I know that you are using the same agent that I used. Were they one of the accredited agents for HCI London or only for the Consulate in Birmingham? The list seems to have disappeared from the HCI website. I can't understand why they don't know where your passports are because I thought they only dealt with Birmingham. In fact they have a courier who drives to Birmingham every day (or so they say) or are we also led to believe that they also drive from Bolton to London every day too ??? Pity you can't ring the consulate yourself and find out what's happening. I can't imagine how anxious you must be.
With reference to your previous post. The agent has had the application since 5 October yet their website currently carries a warning that visas may take up to 14 days! If only eh.
The agent was only on the birmingham web site,i have been waiting 5 week now but not as urgent as sleeps but i am still worried
A few weeks back i rang and a girl then did say they had gone to london and i said then well i filled in a form for birmingham and she said it did'nt matter because of the backlog and they were agents?
But since that conversation i've been told they were in birmingham which uptill today i thought they were in birmingham.
I have to ring them in the morning to find out if i am in tonites batch that are coming back. They use the rail service to get to london so i was told today not a car and the consulate make them wait till 5 or 5.30 for the visa's.
Has much has i would have gone to bolton or london i'm not able to my husband has health problems which i'm not willing to discuss and its all too much for him at the moment. We could certainly do with out this hassle from YOURTRAVELSHOP.COM
Just been told by other half, that even though ours were issued in Brum it was a London form she sent to the agents, so sleeps_r_us that part about being an agency and sending forms to either may actually be true.
just to let you know we are thinking about you and nknow that isn't much help but still hopeful we will see you in Bono's
You are all so supportive its AMAZING when one needs a shoulder to cry on YOU ARE ALL HERE.
What a team.
I think the agent has to do something now the internet is a powerfull tool.
Fingers crossed that any phone calls you make today have a happy ending. Here's to hoping we can all breathe a sigh of relief tonight.
Good luck
Simone

Good luck sleeps - got everything crossed. Take care.

Just logged on and wanted to see if there was any progress. Thinking of you sleeps, hope you get to the bottom of it today. Perhaps the threat that they will paying for the change in your travel arrangements might get some results? (although I sincerely hope it doesn't come down to that and you are on your flight as planned)
