Hi everyone . well the time has come for me to join you all. Just to fill you in a little Ive been going to slimming world on/off for as long as I can remember ,probably about 16 years so i know the plan back to front . I still go every monday morning really to answer to someone and get rid of what I put on,enjoy the chit chat and a coffee and with the hope of getting a few extra pounds off. but of a late its just not been working :Even though ive been really good for weeks before christmas (except on a saturday ) its not been budging . maybe my age or maybe my bodies just got used to the same old thing. I go on toooooooooo many holidays and i now weigh more than i did before my last rejoin 2 years ago . I will face the scales again tomorrow morning after 2 weeks off and 3 tins of quality street later .its not feeling good, but hey ive had fun . my jeans feel ok but my bra feels like its about to explode.
So I need all the help I can get not to walk away thinking why the hell am I bothering
ps .a yummy breakfast for all you S/W weetabix fans . 2x weetabix covered in natural yog(free) , with rasberries and blueberries (free) and honey on the top (2/3sins depending on how much you want. you could do it for less sins but i like loads of honey) and for those with a sweet tooth you can add some sweetener too . makes a big bowl and extremely yummy .

Ask your consultant about Fast Forward... you may find that you've got into a routine and your body is used to the same thing all the time! Also, if you obsess on it it doesn't seem to work! Have a chat with your consultant and see what happens...
Sydney:
Blind scouse is scouse without meat can't describe normal scouse, suppose it's sort of like a hotpot but without the pastry
I've found a yummy and filling brekkie with no hassle is Oatibix with hot milk. It goes just like readybrek/porridge type but without the need for stirring and lump removal (or is that just me?). Okay so I have to have some brown sugar on the top but still.....
Well the start of a new week and weigh in's etc (mine tomorrow night).
Dramaqueen - regarding your blind scouse if you have an Asda close by they do their own brand of 'vegetarian beef style chunks' wow add them to the vegatables and you have a brillliant tasting scouse just add the red cabbage!!!!!
When I became a vegatarian people said you will miss something and I must admit most Quorn products are great but can make the dishes 'bland looking' so seeing a darker substitute does appeal.
I know what you mean about sweets (ok good for us on SW not to eat them) but I used to love Haribo type sweets and many as we know are not suitable.
Lyn - Welcome and I will check out that breakfast, also SandC another breakfast to try. All ideas welcome.
For a blood test this morning I had to fast from 7pm last night and wasn't able to eat anything until I had been to the GP's boy did I enjoy my shreddies and hot milk when I got home
Have a good start to the week and speak soon.

So now instead of thinking 'How many calories is this?', I now put all that effort into thinking how I can use up more calories instead of worrying about limiting my intake of them. So I go dancing twice a week (exercise cunningly disguised as a social life!) but it was also surprisingly easy to incorporate extra activity into the day once I put my mind to it, eg using the stairs rather than the lift when ever possible, walking to and from the train station on my way to work rather than jumping the bus for just a couple of stops, cooking the tea whilst listening to latin dance music (can't help but jiggle around to it!) rather than Radio 4 news, walking at a brisk pace rather than just dawdling along etc. So without actually consciously 'exercising' - and I would never have the discipline to go to the gym a couple of times a week - it all adds up to a fair bit of extra physical activity. My GP advised me that it didn't really matter what exercise I did so long as it was something that pushed my heart rate up - anything that makes your heart beat faster is going to push up the energy demand at the same time so I'll leave you to work out the other activity that might do wonders for you

I think you definately have something there re the exercise Sm. I have thought for a while that I need to do something about that . Im just not as active as i used to be when the children were younger . As you all know I spend far too much of my day on here these days and I dont think its helping.

Sorry..I was a page behind reading . Still keeping my diary and hoping for a good result this week.
I have just 7 weeks left 'till my hols, and would like to lose a stone if possible. Do you reckon that's achievable ?
I can't afford to start a slimming club, so will have to do it on my own.
I would be grateful for some support from you guys if that's ok
cheers everyone
Debbi.
weighin
Its time to get down to some serious dieting
Hi Debbie
a stone in 7 weeks is duable if you cant afford to join a club the new Slimming World magazine is out this gives you an idea on how the diet works along with menus's to use. I think this is the best diet as you can really eat lots. Good Luck
Good luck to everyone going back to the scales after the festivities
Lynn
D Day has begun once again!! I go away in 2wks and have not got a thing that fits me
Serves me right for been soooooooo greedy and lazy I suppose!!!!
I'm back and I mean business!!!!
Just back from a packed SW class and only 2lb gain.
Bought the new magazine so plenty of new year ideas to sift through - bedtime reading!!!!!
Meant to ask at class but forgot, breakfast would you count as syns if you have cornflakes and Special K with red berries?
Speak later in the week.
Irene
Irene..I would think that it would be a Healthy Extra but I'm not 100% sure
Back at ww 1 and half on over 2 weeks and it was christmas. 12 weeks before holiday. I will be a stone lighter Will let you know my progress every week.
It's my day off today, and i have been really good so far. ive just made a lovely BIG salad for lunch with a jacket potato and low fat cottage cheese. For diner tonight it's poached salmon and another salad. Do you reckon I could include a glass of white wine, or am I best leaving that out?
Thanks again Lynn,
Debbi x
Depends if you are like me in that a bottle of white wine opened is a bottle of white wine drunk. I think basically if you can avoid the wine, do so, but if it's your one daily treat then keep it in your regime.
I'm same as sandyc.
If you can have one glass of wine go for it, everyone deserves a treat occasionally.
Lynn
Bought new magazine last night, lots of good recipes in it. Lots of new members too!
Good luck to everyone with the New Year diets......
