We stayed at the Pegasos Palace in July 2007 and the apitheatre does have a balcony overlooking it, but you will have to get there early in order to grab one of the few seats up there.
Secondly, we stayed in a Jacuzzi suite when there and it had a seperate bedroom with a double bed with a door that slid closed for privacy. We had a family room in 2005 and the kids needed to walk back through the adult sleeping area to access the bathroom.
I hope that helps.
Are there beach towels provided for use round the pools?
Yes, you should get a towel card each on arrival which entitlesyou to one clean towel per person at the pool each day. Simply take the card to the hut by the pool, and they will exchange your card for a towel. At the end of the day, take the towel back and they will hand you your cards back.
by the pool. I go for a walk on my own with my camcorder and still camera, Is it safe to do so
here? Don't want to get mugged or anything
we have been twice to the holiday village, and stayed at the tropical both times, which we were extremely glad about, and too be honest there is no where to walk to, there is the little town of sarigerme about a 20 minute walk away, and thats it really.
the resort it quite big that takes you to the beach, and they have security guards on the gate, it's like a private access.
yes its seems fine to walk around, but only really left the complx to go on coach trip or to the local market on sundays.
you will have a fab time, but i will say that last year the iberostar reps were far better than the first choice reps, and because of the different nationalities there it felt like we were acually on holiday and not at butlins.
it was far more relaxed and not as rowdy, the palace was all english and you know what people say about the english abroad. thats why it was nicer at the tropical side of the hotel.
hope that you have a great time i'm sure you will.
did anybody who walked into sarigerme village notice if there was any scooter hire places? thanks
There was scooter hire available in the foyer of the Palace side of the hotel through a bloke/company called Del Boy. He also did car hire I think and I'm sure there were some posts about the cars being right "sheds" and people complained. Can't remember any posts on here about the scooter hire but did see people using them so I guess it must've been ok
We are considering booking Pegasos Palace (or whatever its called now) for last couple of weeks this August - the price on First Choice web site seems very reasonable we are 2 adults and 2 childre aged 11 & 13. We have quoted on an upgrade to the junior jazucci suite which i think but perhaps someone could claify has a separate bedroom so the adults can have some privacy!!
Also i think the site is now all 1 and not the two hotels it was before. We have been AI to turkey before went to Larespark Lara - which was brill.
Would you recommend the Pegasos ?
It depends what you are after, if you like a large complex on its own with a couple of thousand other guests, busy open plan buffet restaurants, large pools with a couple of slides and an iffy beach then yes.
We went the first year (nicknamed the pioneers) and to be honest the place got slated. I ended up on a drip for 24 hours, my wife got bitten to death by mosquitos and my sons ear got badly infected from the pool. However the rooms were excellent and the food not too bad but we got bored with the same old same old during the second week and couldn't wait to get home. Last years experience from feedback on here and other sites was much better however but I would definately not go back, once bitten twice shy is my motto.
Only disappointing thing was the beach, the sea is dangerous and has strong currents
We saw lots of disappointed familys coming back from the beach when they saw how bad it was.
But on the plus side the pools are so good it did not really matter
Walking on it one day, I saw a glint of what looked like a small piece of glass poking up through the sand. I bent down to pick it up and found it to be a large piece of broken bottle buried in the sand. This is where they held the foam parties!!! I looked around and found several more pieces and shards of metal and put them all in a bin. I told the FC rep and they said, yeh we know about this cause it's where some of the buildings supplies were stored during the building of the complex. I pointed out that it was a danger and they said they'd try and do something about it but I never once saw anybody cleaning it up.
do they sell sangria at this hotel? and is there crazy golf at the hotel? what kind of snacks do they do at the bars? thank you
No sangria as far as I could see. There isn't a crazy golf either. The snacks are burgers, toasties, chicken nuggets and pizza, things such as those avaliable from the beach eatery or by the pools.
thank you.whats the beer like is it any good?
Efes is very good beer. It didn't seem watered down at all juding by how many times we went to bed merry. (hic)
Yes Efes is good, although it can become boring after drinking it alot. They also did Becks and Fosters which didn't seem watered down either.
well i,ll get some of there raki down me aswell, thats supose to be very strong.bladderd everynite!!! cant wait!
When did you manage to get Becks and Fosters? We were there in July and those two pumps never once produced any beer!
