RAMS - Carvery Restaurant, Beach Road, Candolim.
Dined there on a number of occasions during 3 week stay in December. including Xmas night. Cannot fault the food nor the hospitality, and it was quite busy whenever we went there.
RAM is no longer connected with Cactus -Sheperds-Pie and both he and his girl friend Linda are now fully devoted to this new venture.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

deb, the bistro...is that the one next to the sunset beach resort?????
Yes it is, very good menu and always has a specials board so plenty of choice. It's also a lovely setting and gets very busy so I would recommend booking in advance.
Debs
apparently the chef at the Bistro was chef for a formula one racing team .
cant wait!!! i want to go this weekend!!!!!
Someone told me that the chefs at Bistro are from France and teach cooking, not sure if that is in Goa or in France out of season
The chef at the Bistro was definitely English last March, he's been there since it opened.
The was 2 english chefs, paul and christian.I think its christian who's moved to anjuna so i've been informed and its paul who's running it now.
That's right Sleeps, there was two I remember Christian leaving, it was still Paul that was there last year.
Paul still there, he is the chef for Hydrex Honda on the British super bike circuit.
My fav (just got back Saturday)
Hymalya - superb
Alexandra - superb
See You - Unbelievably good
Full Moon - Good if you fancy something plain
Without a question of a doubt though the best food was at our shack but that's a secret as it was a fight to get a table for lunch as it was....
Tony's Place is still very reasonable although I did feel the food was more expensive this year in other restaurants. Fish, chips and mushy peas now 180 rupees and now getting about 78 rps to the £. Steak bagette with onions and gravy with few chips 160 rupees
where is Tony's place please? , thanks, shirleyv
Hiya shirl its on the main candolim road just before you turn off for panjim
Thanks colleen
Thats the one deck, knew it was something similar.
Tried :
Flambre - nothing special. Had the sizzlers. Service was reasonable. Not tempted to go back.
Sweet Chilli - great evening. Not sure what we ate because our Goan friends
ordered masses of food which kept on appearing for some 3 hours. Fish platters, various naans, tandori chicken, spicy prawns. The atmosphere and entertainment was good, with African dancers, juggling, fire eating etc. Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Winnie the Pooh also made an appearance. Great evening if you are with a group of friends.
Stone House - Good location elevated over the street so you can watch the world go by. Live music. Food was just OK. Service excellant.
Casa Seashell - one of the best meals we had. Would certainly go back. Staff were brilliant. OH had the best steak with mushroom sauce. Karmi chicken (sorry about spelling) which was superb. Golden fried prawns delicious. Finished with a complimentary glass of brandy.
Tonys Place - could not get a table on the nights we tried - always packed.
Cinnabar - Best cappaccino in Goa!!! Lovely relaxing stop in place, either on the way to the beach or coming back from beach. Good fry up for English breakfast. Place kept well with clean toilets. Its one of those places that seems consistant and everytime you visit, same quality of service etc.
Calamari - beach shack. Food was OK, although we did visit on a bad day, as the front of the shack had been damaged the night before and the staff were working to rebuild.
Palms N Sands. Lovely views down the coast and Fort Aguada. It was extemely windy the day we ate there, so food was cold the moment it arrived on the table.
Fort Aguada Hotel Terrace. - most expensive cappaccino in Goa!! 380 rupees for 2 cold cappaccinos a hell of a lot to pay for the view!!
Chocolatti -The setting in the garden is beautiful. Had lovely carrot cake, however the cappaccino machine was broken for a few days so had to settle for regular filter coffee.
No sure whats happening with Bomras as it was closed a couple of evening when we walked up.
Pete's shack is lovely and behind it on the main road is Cactus Shepherds Pie. These are in Candolim. In Baga, Kim Faa is the best Chinese and Domingo's (down Tito's lane) is the nicest Italian- in our humble opinion!
