Hi
Didn't get out to Goa last season due to ill health.
Does anyone know if Apple Pie is still in Baga. If I remember it was up behind East meets West near the beech.
Krishna who owns it used to have a shack on the beach when i discovered his cooking talents 2 years ago.
I went back last year and this year and take as many people as I can to sample his cooking.
All the people I have taken have said that it is the best fish they have had in Goa...
His restaurant is really sweet as this one is just open this year.
The Restaurant is open all day but he tends to only cook at night if you want the best. Either that or phone him and he will come cook for you in between delivering fish to other restaurants.

I never eat English food when in Goa.
However, after trying lots of different cuisines in restaurants in Goa over the last ten years, we have found that we prefer foreign owned restaurants.
I would have to put French food at the top of any list of my favourites.
have to agree with you on that can not fault your taste buds
Memms Arabian sea do amazing everything. Ridiculously healthy and amazing flavours.
If you like your organic superfoods then its the place for breakfast, lunch and dinner!!!!
East meets west has wnet a bit west for me!!
Le Jardin still amazing.
Chef Soumens is really good but an embarassing rip off or an extension to After 7. After 7 wins that battle easy.
All the food at Ingo's on a saturday - amazing
Off to I-95 for the 1st time yumm!!!!!!!
do the taxi drivers know of souymens kitchen?
yeh they get 100 rps. if they drop you off. if you know were after 7 is souymans is on the other side of the road just up the lane.

Chef Soumyens Kitchen, but i did think the seafood platter was a bit pricey at 2600R for two people.....good though.
On another subject I remarked on what I thought was the ridiculous pricing at some of the resturants listed here Take a walk through the wet fish market of a morning in Calangute and see whats on offer and the price, then if you can get a quiet word with the catering or waiting staff and ask them their wages. Then try and relate it to the seafood platter price. Has Gordon Ramsey opened in Goa and I missed it ? Alan
After 7 doesn't enter into the battle for me!!!!!!!!!!!!
43000+ posts on this forum and I've read almost every one of them and yet I still can't make up my mind which restaurant to go to for our anniversary It has to be one which specialises in Indian dishes. I don't mind if we pay a bit more than average but we just won't pay way over the odds when we can't see any justification for it. Where am I going??
just dont go to the chinese in panjym was over rated and not the nice. i think teama on beach road in candolim on top deck is hard to beat for authentic food and isnt expensive at all.
Fiona, at the end of the day you'll probably have to make up your own mind when you're there which is what I did. I was 60 the day after we got there and just on a whim decided to go to I 95. When we arrived, OH told them it was my birthday and they pulled out all stops - even to a cake. It worked for us on the night so that is why I think they're great, but it's horses for courses. We were there last year when it was our Ruby ann. and went to Bon Appetite which was superb but sometimes it pays you to have a change - Good Luck
I think its the pressure of being mod here. OH thinks I should know all the answers Our anniversary is our first full day there but I can just see us ending up at Nirvana as we know we will get a lovely meal there.
Kebabs and Curries isnt too far from where you are staying and does excellent Indian food
Remember Fiona you have Le Jardin opposite you which is a really lovely setting and meal. Also Au Reverie which OH was desperate to try but didn't seem many in so I was bit reticent, probably give it a go next time. Good Luck
sorry - we absolutely refused to pay the prices they wanted- esp as most of the menu they had was non Indian dishes. From our balcony we watched a lot of folks look at the menu and then walk away- probably also not wanting to pay the prices Le Jardin- will check the menu out- thanks Kebabs and Curries- must admit I've thought of that one.
Thanks all
Didn't look at menu Fiona, just thought it looked a nice setting.
