Morning everyone Wow, quiet here at the moment.
I did get weighed last night. Decided that it was better to go for it and do damage control than continue on a slippery slope where things would end up 10 times worse. It wasnt that bad actually. I only put on ½lb which, when I add up what I ate (and drank alcohol wise on Saturday night), its been pretty kind to me.
I know that I have to work really hard this coming week otherwise the scales will show another increase so i've got to get back to it with a vengeance. Ive picked up some new food diaries so that I can write everything down and am determined to stick to the plan this week.
Hope everyone else has a good week.
Sarah
You're lucky this week Sarah but as you say, you need to get back on track because the scales have a nasty habit of playing catch up if you're not careful. I can't go to weigh in tomorrow morning which is my normal day. Now ,I reckon I am about 0.5lb up this week but if I go to evening weigh in tonight I will be even more. So...ummmm...dilemma dilemma. This is a free week as I bought a countdown and this is week 6. What shall I do
I am stuck!!!!!!! Maintained again for the 3rd week - Help. I need to move things on and I know someone here will have some suggestions.
My portions of rice and pasta are quite big and last night the consultant said it should be one third of your plate for those, so going to watch that. Was hoping to get some excercise in as well but from previous posts and last nights class that seems to be stopping people - although it could be inches that you lose instead?
Going to have more soups - maybe a small bowl before every lunch? I have melon before breakfast. Need to check out speed and superspeed foods to incorportate more.
Any ideas/suggestions most welcome.
Irene
well irene if you like quorn i seem to lose when i eat a stir fry made with it and beansprouts, peppers, rice and a nice big jacket potato or chips!!! i have loads and use the left overs for work the next day. hope this helps, lindsay.
I had become lazy; I did not always weigh my healthy extras or syns. I didn't always write my syns down because I knew they would take me over the 15 for that day. So I thought, "out of sight out of mind". I was just kidding myself. I know writing down everything I eat will be a faff, but for people like me who try to kid themselves everything is going to plan, I need to see it in black and white.
I lost 4lb this week which takes my weight lost to 1st 1lb in 7 weeks (which takes me just a little over my target of 2lb a week)
I dont know what changes it was that made that weight loss as there have been afew. I drank alittle water with lemon juice in, had homemade soup and sandwich for lunch and dinner for 3 days running, used some syns on drink and took sea kelp. whatever it was it worked anyway.
Irene i have noticed that if i eat alot of pasta over the week that my weight loss slows down alot but i think its a personal thing and that might just be me :cry. I dont know why you were told that it should be 1/3 of your plate as its free food unless you are doing the success express But try the cutting down (portion wise) as anything is worth a try. When i maintained for a few weeks and my consultant thought i was going to walk she offered me the fast forward and i lost 6.5lb (not saying everyone will by the way) It is very strict but if your committed it does work. Ask her at your next meeting about it.
Goodluck to all
Kerrie
Yes I do like quorn so will put stir frys on my menu list. Also thought about quorn sausages JP and beans.
More menu planning is what I need to do before the weekly trip to Asda. May try and do one online for delivery by the weekend.
Keep those ideas coming please. Thanks Irene
We were discussing other plans last night so maybe I misunderstood but I do think I am taking the eat as much as you want to far.
I have got the info on FF but think it will be a little strict for me at the moment, will give it 100% this week, write everything down, hopefully exercise - going to measure myself and not weigh myself and see how it goes?
Off to have lunch now.
Irene
I find pasta , rice and jacket potato slows my weight loss down.I did hear that if you are going for these carbs then you should balance it with lots of water and fluids. As I can't drink much unless I am feeling thirsty I tend to not bother with these.
I am still exersising...a walk this morning and a Pilates class.Although I can really notice the difference in my shape, the scales aren't telling the same !!
Starting at the group officially next Monday but am already being more healthy and balanced.
Don't know about any of you but I have persuaded my OH to give me £1 for every pound I lose....mind you as his knowledge of imperial weight not that good I could have easily stung him for more than that!!!!!!!
I am hoping this will give me a bit of an extra incentive this time as usually once I have lost that first half stone I get lazy with it all!
Well done to everyone who has lost weight and commiserations to those that haven't. I put on a pound this week but I cheated quite a lot this last week and I admitted it in class last night... The leader said well done for admitting it and knowing where I went wrong so I felt a bit better about that!!!
I am going to really try hard this week........ Denny
Was reading loads of pages back about Covent Garden soups - checked out the calories in these, and a huge amount in tomato and basil [my favourite] compared to carrot and coriander!
For lunch i always have a tub of soup, and things like Asda's Carrot and Coriander only have 130kcals, which is great!
I have just started slim fast diet and it is good. I thought Id be starving but it really does work! Havent lost any weight yet though!!
I made some cabbage soup the other night, the more you eat the more weight you are guaranteed to lose [not sure how that works]... well, it was foul! Can still taste it... the receipe said to put in a whole head of celery... I can still taste the celery! Had to pour a massive pan down the loo [3 large onions, head of celery, half a green cabbage, green pepper, can of tomatoes, packet of onion soup, three veg stock] - what a waste
Well done to all this weeks losers and to those of you that have fallen off the wagon (or are thinking about it) DON'T!! It's March in 3 days and how good are we to still be hard at it
hbrac, as frustrating as this is, I guess this is the best way round to have itAlthough I can really notice the difference in my shape, the scales aren't telling the same !!
alsbaby, that really is a great loss. I'm just about to order some Kelp tablets, so hope they have played a part
Sunaholic
Kelp tablets... what part do they play?
Kelp tablets... what part do they play?
I think they make you wee
Well folks I stayed the same this week not to unhappy about that as long as I lose next week. I have 11lb to lose in 11 weeks so hopefully I can hit my target before my hols.
ElleDee - re you cabbage soup diet you can actually buy packets of soup made up in places like Holland and Barett, not a diet I would like to try. I dont think it would be fair on workmates if you get my windy meaning.
Congratulations to everyone who has lost weight this week and to the people like me who have not try harder for next week
Lynn
Well I didn't go to SW this week but my home scales said the same as last week so I have escaped the curse of the Quiz night salted peanuts.Phew Whilst out this morning a lady asked how I kept so slim What !!!! Well I was wearing a black polo and black jeans
Lynn I'm sure you will manage that 11lbs in 11 weeks - well done so far
Elle dee, I really wouldn't recommend the cabbage soup diet it's awful stuff!!!! Also when you stop doing it you will just put the weight straight back on. Any diet that excludes any major food group is unhealthy. Thats why the likes of Slimming World, Weight Watchers or Rosemary Connoly are so successful - they are more like healthy eating plans rather than diets. AND they work.
