I am in the USA and I am one of the many that put off booking Med cruises because of the $ and the airfare which has rocketed in the last few weeks.

Windjammer- do you have any hotel recommendations in Barcelona?
We stayed at the travellodge (20eur but hat was early booking) not the best location 10min walk to the train station, taxi was 20eur from the airport and 20eur to the port.
If you search for hostels they are small hotels that seem to be good value, then check on trip advisor. is you find something close tothe botom of las ramblas there is a 2eur bus from the monument to the ships.

Hotel for Barcelona. If you are DIY'ing into Barcelona Airport and taking the airport bus to the main square (Catalunya, from memory) then consider the Gran Ducat, a 3 star hotel less than 200yards from the drop-off point.
We used it last October, complimentary brekkie, and it meets the requirement perfectly and is well placed for taxi to pier on embarkation day. We will certainly use this one next time we embark at Barcelona.

There is one today on vacations to go quoting $899 plus taxes etc. NCL's own site is quoting $989 plus the other add ons. There will be other sites possibly even better than VTG. Bobstheboy alerted us to a one day sale from NCL for today only! You will know you need to move quickly!!

The Jade cruise on the 29th June is at $769 + add ons at bestpricecruises, so it is going to be under £500 pp. The sale is on for a week, until 12th May so worth keeping an eye on but the best bargains will disappear quickly I fear !

I booked the promotional rate ($200 each) for Inside Guarantees on the 10th and 15th May Navigator of the seas..... when I printed our Setsail passes today they have assigned us a Midships superior Ocean View room for the first cruise and a midships Promenade room for the second. (again $200 each)

It's time to look our for those Princess round britain deals Grand Princess 12nights various dates.
First one seen on TXT is 7 june from £679 the 10n in 2005/6 came done to about £550 so this is close tothe same pppd pricing and could go lower still.
Some of these are peak season school hols and they have come down to this level before, these are not the med but good ports around the UK that many may never have visited before.

Thats great stuff, did you get a good deal on the flights, be interesting to here what the total DIY ends up at for comparison this is looking like a cheap cruise, these short trips do not seem to be selling that well and I think they are doing the same next year could be a bargain to look out for get the flights early and fall back is a few days in Barcelona.
I would give RCI a call and try and try to get the same cabin for both legs, if that does not work then talk to the desk when on board part way through the first leg(first/last days they are busy) to get a feel for the cabin transfer process so you can have a full day in barcelona and try again for no cabin change/upgrade on the seccond leg.
Might also be worth having a chat with the second leg cabin steward to try and get the cabin done early so you can move quick or say you will be off the boat and he can do it last.
I had a cabin move messed up on one trip becaue I did not understand the process, I thought it would be done for me but that did not happen.
If they have a proper butlers trolly no need to pack everything it all stays on the hangers during the move

Everything was booked solid. Hope it's OK.

For anyone who has not done the Fjords it is simple breathtaking and I am sure that this Ship would be equally so.
I am not completely committed for this year having booked the Summit for August but just wish I could justify booking this. If they were to offer me a single room at this price I would jump at it.

PS Geiranger is the DIVA of the Fjords and the one that is always shown in any photos of the Fjords. Truly breathtaking and the Seven Sisters as you sail in and out of it just spectacular.
