Hi Karen
As I remember the Cemre was about 10 mins from ADR towards Turgutreis and the Reishan by the harbour - 20 mins or so
Why Don't you e mail the ADR and ask if they can name some of the nearby ones (they may even offer a deal - you never know)?
Food - can only say how I found it last year -Nothing wrong with it but a bit repetetive. They certainly know how to use up all the bits of a Turkey!! It was hot when it came out but people tend to leave the lids open so it cools quickly. Decent salads, eggs and pancakes freshly cooked to order for breakfast bit keen on nuts on the cakes but no major complaints.I would think thats what Kims family found
Forgotten the name of it now but if you turn left on the beach and head to towards Turgutreis there is a fab restaurant where you sit on cushions in raised platforms, authentic turkish dress for the staff and live camels(not to eat!!). Ellie would love it. You see them exercising the camels most evenings as well.
Stop worrying - you will enjoy :cheers

My daughters boyfriend is the pickiest eater on earth, so it could be that shes just fed up with him looking glum about food.

Hes a sausage or burgers or chicken nuggets & chips merchant :que

But I think the food at the Olu Deniz Resort is better, but I think all things considered the ADR is great.

I would have rathered they left the salads plainer & allowed you to mix your own, everything was chopped into tiny pieces & mixed & dressed.
As for the scrambled egg & brussell sprots mix :yikes

The ODR has lovely fresh spring veg, nice pots done different ways, plainer salads & dress them yourself. And puddings :tongue :tongue :tongue WOW

ellie meg - don't worry about the food. If you can't find something to eat at ADR then I think you are far too picky :D

That said they did burgers and chips every day for lunch at the beachfront restaurant. They also did really nice pizzas.

Turgetries is only a 15 min walk for other food outlets

no im not a chips and burger person & i dont eat fish or eggs. i love salads, chicken kebabs, chicken casseroles things like that, i hate any processed meats, like burgers, sausages etc, so i usually live on the chicken casseroles or salads lol, i will eat steak, lamb etc too, i dont mind pizzas, infact i prefer turkish food to english, i love continental breakfast never have or will have a cooked breakfast, so hopefully i will be ok lol think on the bright side i might loose some weight lol

my daughter loves pancakes so she will be happy lol. lynne that restaurant sounds good with the camels will check that out, might email hotel if my mother makes up her mind if shes coming to visit or not grrr :que
how easy is it to get a late room and any idea of the price thanks

Karen
Late checkout was £20 last year . I had no problem and that was in August and the place was to capacity!
Somehow I missed the scrambled egg and sprout dish - not too upset though!!

hi lynne

thanks for that £20 is fine, was concerned it was going to be about £50 !! i tried to book it with thomsons last week but they said it was too late and i had to book late room direct with the hotel.

hubby wants to know do they do archery and thai chi
Reply
there was Archery a few times as for Tai Chi , don't think so - he'll have to settle for water aerobics ;)
Reply
ok i know i read somewhere there was thai chi but cant remember whether it was on a hol site or brochure, better not tell him or he will be disappointed lol :whoops

thanks collette, wonder if we will spot each other on the transfer bus if its full lol. have you started packing yet, ive done nothing not even finished ironing grrr

at least i wont have to pack towels so thats great
Reply
I haven't started packing yet and I am having my false nails done tonight so I don't know how successful it will be - I only have them done once a year so it takes me a while to get used to them !!
Reply
oh gosh dont think i could cope with packing using false nails, my oldest daughter has them sometimes lol

did you go to ADR this time last year and how was it getting sun beds and were there big queues for food etc
Reply
Yes we went the same week last year - no problems with beds. We liked to be by the pool and they do go first - but certainly not a mad rush to get any. There were always beds by the beach and by the water slide pool but I am too nosy and like to see what is going on to be too far away !!

I don't remember there being big que's but I do like to take things slowly on holiday !!
Reply
i like to sit on the beach but ellie likes the pools so we usually end up by the pools as i prefer to be near her, she can swim but still shes fairly young , she has said shes going to try and join in with the kids club this time, that will be a first lol
