Hi Kellycrooner-Thanks for your replies. Hope you got my message. I'm new to these forums. I'm back to feeling excited about my forthcoming holiday now that I know my son will probably enjoy!

colinrog - hope that kellycrooner and Dylan have put your mind at rest.
In the past we have hired a fridge when we get there, but we are going later in the season this year, so will e-mail them beforehand to book one.
Have you got their e-mail address, - it's info.cartago@sanmiguelresort.com

By the way - see you there - we arrive on 8th August.

Feel reassured and quite excited now. Thanks for the e-mail address.

See you there-can't wait.

Will try not to be too much of a nuisance but I'll probably be asking many questions on this forum between now and August 4th!

Ask away - that's what it's for

hi I forgot to say - I am also there when you are and my daughter is meeting up with loads of teenagers she met from last year - so your son won't be short of company

hi Colinrog, just to try and set your mind at rest, last year we went with 6 kids, 1 aged 13, 1 aged 15, 2 aged 17 and 2 aged 18. First time at San Miguel and enjoyed so much going back this year. Plenty of sport to take part in and my advice would be to join in as this is how you make friends and have a laugh. Evening entertainment best we have seen!! :)

Thanks everyone. Sounds like he'll be fine. Nice to hear some of you will be there the same time as us. The first round's on us. Ha ha.

With kellycrooner, GYONTOUR, colinrog and myself all being there together, we should have the basis of a good team for Boogie Nights.
We could start planning our strategy on here!!!

Good idea Micknmill, only hope with us being there for just one week this year that it falls within that week! First time last year and didn't know what to expect, it was mad!! lol :cheers

Certainly is mental - we've managed to be on the winning team for 3 of the last 4 years.

i've read lots about boogie nights but still unsure what is involved. Can anyone explain?

totally mad!! Involves the hotel splitting into teams depending upon where you are sat for the evening entertainment. Then come a series of challenges which last year involved all our team trying to get to the top pool asap and wave like mad. We were sat in the blue section and those in the yellow section (who had obviously gone before ) had armed themselves with lots of inflatables in the colour yellow. Not to be out done we brought our blue suitcases down form the room and waved them!!! Ends with a spectacular display on top of the western saloon (won't tell you what as it will spoil it). Great fun!! So hope it is on when we are there!!!!!!!! :cheers

just thought, in case you are now scared silly that this is a totally out of control hotel don't worry. Zorro and his team do an excellent job at keeping order. Good days and evenings but you can get a good nights sleep unlike some other hotels that we have been at. :)

13 sleeps left for us :cheers Can't wait, specially now the weathers improving :sun2, so if anyone wants any further things checked out, give me a shout :)

hi - I can certainly vouch for Boogie Nights - it has to be one of the bests nights I have ever had on holiday - we are always red team and always make sure we take something red to wear on the night .. It certainly is a crazy night - the kids love it as much as the adults and the sangria at the end packs a powerful punch.....the hotel does go mental - I have been there when people have been carried around in the yellow canoes from the beach and much worse but god so funny.... as a family in this hotel - you can just let your hair down - don't have to worry about the kids with a brilliant animation team and a hilarious bar staff in the western force feeding you slippery nipples - it is impossible not to enjoy yourself- we have always gone there as with kids us parents can have a holiday too instead of having to worry about if the kids are happy - because they always are in san miguel - the hotel itself probably needs a slight update in places although sources tell me that its had one this winter - but there is a party atmosphere that hangs over san miguel and its like going home as you know everyone when you arrive as the same people return year after year

We're also always in the red team. Last year we took some red vegetable dye with us and half way through the evening a load of us dyed our hair red (although I haven't got too much left to dye). Even Zorro fell about laughing at us.

Lucky you molliemoo - less than two weeks to go. Can you let us know the date that boogie nights is for you, then we can work out if it will be our first or second week.
Ta,
Mick

Looks like I'd better pack some red clothes then.

Not a Father Christmas outfit though - it'll be too hot.
