Hi

No major changes (I hope), we were there last August, a lot of the staff from the previous 3 years were still there.

If anything things have improved over the years, the Mermaid restaurant was a themed restaurant at night which did charge a one off fee.

However I believe things just outside the hotel to the front have been moving along very quickly and there are now lots of shops that have been built in the last year, for example McDonalds, Starbucks and a fashion outlet, please if anyone has any info on this please post it.

Any questions please let me know.

Thanks hassie for the info. Can't wait to go.

Can anyone tell me anything about the dive pool, ie where it is etc as there wasn't one there last time I was there but have seen a pic of it. Is there dive boards etc?

Also do the sun loungers still have the comfy matresses at the pool and at the beach as my partner would only lie out if we had these :cry

Thanks for all your help :tup

Hey All,

Just been searching through google and came across a video of the coral sea resort.
I hope people who are discussing whether to book find it helpful! :D

I am panicking now as I have emailed the CSR and been told that as we are booked into 2 twin rooms we will NOT be next door to our children as there are double rooms inbetween the twins. I have asked them to try to put us into a double but I don't know whose fault this is as we didn't know the room layout at the time of booking. I know that FC can't guarantee next door rooms but I did ask for connecting rooms. Some poor soul is going to have our 3 kids in the room next door to them and I will be unaware of whats going on!! We could always split up and have kids and an adult sharing but what kind of holiday is that going to be for us??
I fear I have made a terrible cock up here. any suggestions? :que

For those of you lucky enough to be going to the CSR this year - well done on making a great choice!
We went there last year and had a brilliant holiday. We have just returned from the Holiday Village and by comparison the CSR wins hands down - even though the HV is only one year old we enjoyed our time at the CSR much more,

Have fun! :cheers

Almond,
I am sure the csr will be able to help you once you arrive.we were there aug 06 and didn`t have a nice view form our room( we looked onto a large white perimiter wall) I went straight to reception and they told us to go and have dinner and then come back. They offered us a beautiful room with huge balcony overlooking the pools. We were really happy and had a lovely time.

We went to the Coral Sea Resort July 2007 and also had a room that faced the white wall with a slight sea view! (We paid for Seaview) so complained and reception were great and showed us around several rooms that were vacant and we were able to chose our selves a great view close to the sea overlooking the large pool. Can't fault any of the hotel staff, they were excellent. Infact loved the hotel that much we are going back again this year, same two weeks. July 10th just over two weeks to go :cheers :sun2

We are returning for our 4th visit on 14/08/08, I emailed the hotel manager yesterday to see if we could have the same room as last year as it was perfect and have had confirmation today that this has been done.

The hotel are so accomodating so if something is not to your liking please tell them and they will do absolutely everything to put it right.

Any questions please ask. :tup
