hi mick
we went to the water park with ibiza uncovered (i think that's what its called) can't remember the prices but it was cheaper than with the reps. i think the tour shop goes to the waterpark approx 6 days a week whereas thomsons only go about twice a week don't know about any other trips but their bound to be cheaper than the reps.
have a great time were of to the costa brava this year.
oh my god - we were there for that night very memorable - one of the best we were all soaked by the end as it was raining and there were puddles everywhere and everyone just carried on dancing and singing in the water and the dark - what a great atmosphere

We weren't there for that storm, but the first year we went we had one on the second day. we watched the lightning from the hotel restaurant and it was amazing. Then the power went off but the beach club still had power, so basically there was the whole of the hotel in the beach club bar which isn't the biggest in the world, they had to change the beer barrels about every half hour and we all had our own party and singalong and it was only 2 in the afternoon.
thanks for that Tracy,
Mick

Are there any nice scenic walks from the complex?
I do like to occasionally wander off on my own for 2-3 hours.

Hi all
Boogie nights is tonight! (Our first) so really looking forward to it!
Weather hot, hot, hot - fancy the food has improved over the past few days (manager behind counter a lot in the restaurant) chinese last night was excellent!
Still, loads of people complaining to Thomson reps about rooms (felt sorry for one rep yesterday - a guy was really laying into her) Rooms are damp apparently (especially in the beach club). There also seems to be lots of people with bad chests, terrible coughs etc. (My husbands asthma has flared up)
Having a great, fun time though. Beats being in work anyday!!

Hi all
got back yesterday
Overall had a really fantastic time. We stayed in the hotel (room 521).
This year the cons -
hotel food variety was quite poor, but quality was fairly good and we all managed to eat well
western saloon food ok, but not brilliant
lifts in hotel - no words available!!!!
a few public areas have tiles that need repairing
Thomson reps. Apart from Lee (no words needed here!!)
Pros
chinese reataurant really good.
reception staff realy helpful
Alfredo (hotel restaurant manager) fantastic (you should also see him in his civvies - flower power!!)
Western Saloon staff, especially jose, what can I say. New girl Christina, lovely. Jose where did you go with my CD????
Beach club and floor zero bar staff great
Zorro, what a love, managed to chat with him out of Entertainer mode, and he's a really nice guy, usual standard of entertainment from his team.
Location - what good views, get the sea view side if you can
Cleaners - work really hard and believe me with some of the dirty trogs that are guests there, really earn their money.
Boogie Nights (return of the fireworks!!!) best night ever!! every other Thurs from the 12th June
Watch the other nights like Guests vs Entertainers, Men vs Women as Zorro cheats like I don't know what!!
Overalll excellant 3 * hotel, made more worthwhile by its staff. We will go again.
ps. entertaiment staff at the galeon are still the same.

Glad you had a good time molliemoo.
Did you come across any dampness in the hotel room?
Having a chat with Zorro 'out of entertainer mode' is great. He's a very intelligent bloke, - as are Chris and Ollie. Spent a few hours with them up at the Happy Friar last year on their day off, - turned into quite a session.
Thomsons reps up to normal standard then. I assume Lee is one of the entertainers?

Damp rooms at the San Miguel complex!!! Who would have ever thought.
Well, i expect it will soon be a major attraction at most 3 star hotels when they hear about it!!! lol

Hi mick
we had room 201 for 3 days then 521 for the rest. Neither room was damp or smelt of damp, nor did the corridors.
Lee is a Thomson entertainer, but very energetic. He's also the campest person I have ever met!! Zorro said that he was the best most hard working rep that he had ever met. Got on well with Chris this time, but he was mostly in the 'over indulged' state of health

you changed rooms? how come?
we had booked a seaview room, but due to an error, wasn't available for 3 days. Moved as soon as it came free
Cant wait to meet Lee, going on 21 July, 2nd year. Thanks for info re Boogie nights, have worked it out that will be our 1st week.
Thompson have really hiked prices since we booked need to watch it if so many complaining! might put people off.

Well, we're all packed and ready to go. Flying out from Manchester @ 3.20pm tomorrow so hopefully be there in time to grab a drink in the Western Saloon before bed!!
Hope there's no damp in our room as our daughter has chronic lung disease. We're first timers so a bit apprehensive with bad reviews. (thanks micknmill for your reassurances!)
Maybe see some of you there.
Adios!!
