That is the site runmeg that would not post my review, yet they posted a negative review from someone who had never flown with them but heard they were bad !!!! and allowed that poster to give a rating, beyond belief actually.

We obviously don't know how that other site operates and what criteria they may have for disallowing certain reviews, and so it's probably best that we do not discuss them here.

If anyone does wish to submit a review of Flyglobespan, positive or negative, please feel free to do so here. Constructive and non-libelous comments are always welcome. :wink

Flyglobespan from Glasgow to Sanford finally seem to have gotten there act together , this week they have been airbourne within 10 mins of scheduled departure time and within 30 mins for the last 10 days (Sat and Sun they had delays of over an hour - which seems strange given the improved weekday record they have) which would have been better if it weren't for weekend delays.

Thought i'd reassure some of the folk (myself included) flying to Orlando with them soon - am still monitoring on a daily basis though !!!!!!

Saturday flights are have almost alwas been delayed and usually a minimum of 2-3 hours, the annoying thing is the aircraft always arrives in Glasgow in plenty of time but then Globespan switch it to the Canadian routes to cover for there aircraft which is usually almost late, then the Sanford flight gets the Canadian plane when it eventually arrives. I am flying Globespan to fly to Sanford in September and guess what day, yes the Saturday flight and I am resigned to the fact I will be late at least a few hours (it really annoys me though) :que

Hi

we are already considering our summer 2009 holiday, most likely to Florida, and Flyglobepan would be one of our flying options from glasgow, therefore i was wondering what aircraft they now used because i recall they were using 737's to fly across the pond and 757-200's, and does anyone know how many long haul aircraft they have and what the seat pitch is in econemy

Also the delays seem to be a problem for the company

Thanks in advance anyone who can assist

The summer flights (late May-October) are in Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, the economy seats I believe are as good if not better pitch wise than most charter firms, In flight entertainment is in overhead screens and not great, but the in flight meals in my opinion are better than most, Punctuality on the Orlando flight has onthe whole been very good to excellent however the flight leaving on Saturdays is prone to delays. All in all I think that they are worth a go if the price is right (and it is usually cheaper than the rest). :tup

going to orlando in september with flyglobespan ,does anyone know what time the check in desk opens? i know its supposed to be 3 hours but ive found with other flights it tends to be earlier for flights to the usa.

Been to the Usa 3 times and as long as you check in no later than about 3 hours then you are giving yourself plenty of time, FlyGlobespan say three hours on their website

Have a good time

And with your seats pre chosen as standard there is no need to get there early for seat choice :D

they didnt do so well today departing 2.10 pm so only about 4-5 hours late

It was the first major delay they've had in at least 3 weeks , so don't worry too much , due in 2 hours late today after being 5 hours later yesterday so have made up a few hours and if can get away by mid day today they will be back on schedule tomorrow they have a long enough turn-around time at Sanford they can afford to be a couple of hours late and catch it back up on the journey back from Orlando

Just flew with Globespan and they weighed hand luggage collectively with checked in luggage on way out (Durham Tees Valley) but not on return leg (Faro)

We just flew with FGS Durham - Faro. No problems whatsoever. Flights bang on time even made 25 mins on the return flight. Crew were really friendly. They are very strict at Durham the 20kg allowance includes all hand luggage, didn't even bother weighing it at Faro.

There is speculation that Flyglobespan is about to announce the axeing of several winter sun services from Edinburgh, perhaps related to the rising cost of aviation fuel, which has also resulted in numerous other airlines making cutbacks to their winter schedules.
