Traveller...I tried to pre register using your link but it doesn't seem to recognise my booking reference so I am stymied :que Have entered the reference no. as printed on my dollar voucher. The best laid plans and all that !!

hbrac...oh dear. Still sending the "drivers" ahead to the Dollar counter whilst the rest of the party collect the luggage should save some time. Have fun!

Hi
Flying to vegas 18th premium ec from Gatwick, I dont want to check in online as I want the whole experience, do I have to check in online? I hadan email saying how to do it but I gather I can check in as normal?
Reply
vegasone,

It's so much easier checking-in online then dropping your bags off at the airport. You can use the normal check-ins if you want though.

Just to let everyone know, there's quite a good sale on their website at the moment, worth a look ;)

Hiya, hope you can help.

We were going to Florida with Travel City Direct, we had upgrades on our flights so our baggage allowance was 40kg each.

We are extremely fortunate to have booked with Virgin through Thomson hols, now we are sitting in economy and our luggage allowance is 23kg.

What are Virgins regulations on hand luggage weights? Do they add hand luggage weight to your check in luggage. Are they strict? Can we check in our luggage and take as hand luggage the biggest bag allowed with heavy stuff in??

I only ask as we were going to do some christmas shopping so just want to know what to expect.

Thank you.

If you are flying with Virgin Atlantic, according to their site you are allowed 2 pieces of hold baggage per pereson weighing up to 23kgs each. You are also allowed one piece of hand baggage, maximum dimensions 23 x 36 x 56cm, weighing a maximum of 6kgs.

We have not long come back from Orlando. On the website is said 2 pieces of hold luggage for U.S. but when we got the e tickets it only said one piece. This was sufficient for us so we didn't investigate it further. Best check by ringing VA as you don't want to get to the airport and find you have to pay extortionate excess baggage charges for the second case.

Hi all,
We have just booked flights with Virgin to JFK. Never been to USA before or flown with Virgin. Going out on Boeing 747 and back on Airbus A340. Seats are in rows 63 out and 41 back. Are these ok, or should we change, we are all tall and an 8hr flight will be hell if they are the same as other tour ops. Going to the med is just about tolerable. Any other things I should now about the flights?
Thanks very much.

Thanks, I have checked on virgins web site and one mentioned, but can't find details of legroom.
Am I looking in the wrong place?

sj,

Everything is listed on Seat Guru as Traveller mentions, or you can try Virgin's V-Flyer. Seat pitch in economy of the 744 and A346 averages 31".

Hi, thanks found it! We are in rows 63 DEFG on 747 and rows 41 DEFG on Airbus 340. I changed to row 41 on airbus as it looked like there was more room to recline! As they are just white boxes- any info if these are good. If not what should I try and get on check in as not much is showing on prebooking. Thanks for your help.

Hi,
Can anyone update me on these seats. Are they good recliners, any info appreciated.
thanks

sj,

Refer to Seat Guru as Traveller suggested, there's loads of information there. Seating is personal preference so it's difficult to say if a seat is good or not as different people have different tastes. You are in standard economy seats, they don't vary much and recline the same as the others.

It states on their website "A small number of flights on certain dates will not be operating due to lower, out of season demand".
The flights that have been effected are listed.
Are there any other Caribbean passengers that have been notified? Which route were you on?

Hi
Can anyone give me an opinion on this matter? briefly I booked a flight on 4th Aug to Orlando,on the 14th Dec premium economy seats, with a travel agent on a Virgin flight UPPER DECK I pacifically asked for for upper deck I got the seats that I requested and paid in full, everything fine.

I received an e-mail on the 1st Oct informing me that the travel agent had cancelled the reservation and rebooked the flight, on doing so they lost my seats on the upper deck and now none are availble, the travel agent told me to phone him the day before the flight and they may be able to change the seats to the upper deck as the airline release seats 24 hours before take off. I don't think that will happen.

My question is do you think that I have any redress with this company? I am sitting in premium economy but in inferior seats and paying the same price. I checked out Virgins site on Oct 1st the flight was £320 cheaper, obviously that's why they changed the booking because they had not paid in full for the tickets at that time. I keep on getting told that seats are only requested and not guaranteed, but they are not giving me what I specified at time of booking.
Thanks for your help or advice.

Hi Ekim and welcome to HT. I moved this from Help and Assistance as we have some very knowledgeable members here who can help/ keep me right :)
It is really annoying that you are not on Upper Deck anymore but unfortunately it was only a request as you pay the same money for both decks. ( Well, this is where others can keep me right but I know that is the case in the airline I use most often).
Virgin has online check in. I would suggest you do the check in as soon as it becomes available.

ekim,

I agree with Fiona. Premium Economy seats are available on the upper deck with a few rows on the main deck. You are still in prem. econ seats as per your booking, just not in the ones you would have liked to have had. There are no guarantees you will get upper deck seats as it's only a request so I would agree with Fiona, as soon as you have access to online check-in, see if there are any seats available in the upper deck. If there aren't, there's little yo can do.
