Yep seen that on keycamps site, although the picture and the description of the bungalow they are showing is of one of the smaller bungalows that only Direct Holidays sold or the site itself Cambrils Park sold via their own web site.
It could be that the site itself is going to sell the larger deluxe bungalows itself ,and let keycamp etc have the smaller older bungalows.
Anyhow we will not be going back, been there too many times now
Got back from Cambrils Park on 27th Sept. Not many caravans being used and the motor home and tent parks were well empty but it was nice and quiet. Unfortunately the wet weather for the first 2 days made the place look mucky but i put that down to being end of season combined with the buildin. work that had started. YES the caravans were being decomissioned and removed while we were there to be replaced by bungalows for next season so the reps told us. All new foundations and mains suplies already installed at the front end near the kids pool and working downwards. I hope the place dont loose a lot of character as even though we did not the best of weather it looked as if it had been a good place to stay in the past out of interest I never stayed in the camp much as I used the car to explore during the day times.
I live nearby and walk past the campsites every day. Have seen them being removed. The Bungalows are being installed. they look very nice I think it will make the site look nicer all standardised accomodation. This site has very high standards.
It does worry me though that the sites owner has got a bit greedy and decided to cut out the middle man i.e the UK Tour operator. Im not sure that as many people will book directly, especially as the bungalows are a lot smaller than the vans and feel cramped for a family of 6. I wouldnt be suprised if the UK tour operators are back on there in 2010.
For next summer (09) TUI have it advertised in the brochure and also Keycamp/Eurocamp but only for the bungalow type accomodation. It really is a fantastic family site, I always put my family in there when they come to visit. The pools are amazing and the local area - bars, restaurants, beaches are top notch.
I really hope it doesnt damage the local economy and that the UK tourists will still come to this great family destination.
I was there last week of the season and they were removing the vans while we were there. The foundations were already layed for the first up near the kids swimming pool. I ask the Siblu Rep who amitted that the site was changing and i have also had a mailshot showing layouts of the 2 new vans whic can include flat screen tv and wi-fi
Apparantly there is another camp site 5k away available with EuroCamp-Keycamp who still have the same style accomodation this year. So if you want those extra inches have a look at that site instead. Its not too far for a night out in Salou and handy main rd access for the parks etc.
Have pretty much decided thats where we are going (3A & 3ch) mid may. Stay in new bungalow.
Whats entertinment like in May ?
Does in matter what location to stay in wit regards to near certain pools / entertinment.
Any other feedback appreciated x
