We were AI and we had full use of the kitchen, it was handy as sometimes the kids just wanted something like pasta or noodles. The kitchen was very clean too. There were some good pics on trip advisor web site.
Can't remember the exact cost of deposits, I think they were around 25 euro each but you can put them on credit card, they use the old type receipts that don't actually get charged until you leave if you don't return the items, then they just give their copy to you to rip up so in theory you don't pay unless you lose them.

Hi mackmack, just reading your post to michandjack i go on the 9th october and wanted to know what the kids den were like, and what they provided in the rooms, this has helped me alot thanks mojwar75
It depends on the room you have booked, I am going AI but I have an apartment booked. I think as standard you just get a room on AI, check with your travel agent
I am going next week, so if you have not been answered by the time I get back I'll let you know about the remotes
All it says on our Booking is 1 room, sleeps 2/4 and sea view.
So I dont know if that includes the amenities for cooking or is just an apartment.
Kenny
Just a quick answer all the rooms are the same size bar the ones with he kids dens and they all have the same cooking facilities as the apts are'nt designated to ai or sc.One thing that would have been handy was an oven.
That is what it said on our original booking too, and with taxifor4's info, I think you will be allocated an apartment ust call the travel agent to confirm
mojwar75 - we fly out the same day. Where you flying from?
The kids dens basically have bunkbeds, two beanbags and television which is supposed to be for the playstation you can hire for 150euros but we just used it as a basic tv(once you hire the remote)
anymore questions just ask
We were a bit confused about pots too when we were AI but there were metal jug type pots to use in the drawer under the hob, they were quite good as the handles didn't get hot, we managed to use them to make supernoodles and pasta, there was no measuring jug so had to guess with milk no disasters though. Was a shame there was no oven though.
hi crackerjack hope you had a good holiday. im off next week and staying in a kids den as well. can yu tell me if the kids dens are all situated at ground level, any other info about the village itself (good or bad) would be very much appreciated.

Hiya KAP1234,we was on the first floor, dont think there is many on the ground. The food gets bit repetitive but its not that bad, just seems 4 star is more like 3 star.My biggest complaint is the bar inside the entertainment complex.Long queues waiting for service and everything is served in paper/plastic cups(everyone takes a glass from the restaurant and uses that).
2 restaurants on site, italian and portugese, most agree portugese is best, and one last thing most people believe you only get two visits per restaurant, but i booked two per restaurant, per week, helps break up the standard meals

Thats must have changed since we were there at the end of May as we were allowed 2 visits to each restaurant during the 2 weeks were there but could not change our reservations. The reservations were made for you by the hotel (not First Choice) and they wouldn't change them to suit you

basically between 2pm and 4.30pm you can select a time from 1900pm till 2100pm, you can select a sitting but it gets booked up fast.Spoke to a woman who takes reservations and she told me twice per restaurant per week so chanced my arm and had no problems.
restaurant per week, we went twice to the Portugese and once to the italian. They didn't allocate times but you had to book at a certain time of the day at the main reception. It is a nice change.
Thanks everyone really useful.
After the first few pages I thought no way, not going there. After reading recent posts it seems that they have sorted everything out.
Have been to HV Majorca for last couple of years and found it fantastic. One concern about Algarve is where the entertainment is. At Majorca it was open air stage and seating - really nice sitting out in the warm nights. I get the impression that it is all inside in Algarve.
Anyone help me out on this?
PS - Is Captain Crowsfeet at Algarve? (that will hopefully make sense to some people!!)
Many thanks...
The entertainment is in a place called the venue on the complex. Its not exactly massive inside, and you need to get there early to get a seat. The bars a nightmare as well, normally long queues to get a drink due to the fact theres only 2 staff serving. To be honest though once you get into your routine its not that bad, just means getting there earlier and ordering double the amount.
Thanks crackerjack.
No Captain Crows Feet when we were there in July I'm afraid or Goulash, but the entertainment team are fantastic and sooooooo friendly. The boys ......Billy is sweet but naughty, Phil has the whitest smile in the world, Daryl does sound and light but gets involved in anything he can. The girls are lovely, Ruth is mad, Danni has an amazing voice and Lindsay is adorable (my 12 year old daughter idolised her and wants to be her when she grows up).
