The smallest/cheapest room two adults and two kids will fit into is the Village Category 2a ' Extended Double' with a sofabed for the kids - this is room type C 'Large Superior' on the UK website price list (dunno why they can't use the same categories...) - you can have that with Sea View (3a / D).
Next up in price is the Family room (Cat 4 / E) with a seperate kids room but only one bathroom, then you are into connecting rooms with seperate bathrooms (cat 5 / F, or 6 / G with sea view) - The UK web-site gives per night prices for all the above, and the main LW web-site has pictures of the room layouts - You pays your money .....

Just going to say the same as Dave really. The room I had this year in the village would probably suit you. It's a large family type room with a king sized bed and then down a step to a double sofa bed.

These also tend to be more resonably priced for Lykia.

The facilities are the same regardless or village or residence room.

All tour operators carry Lykia, I priced for next year with First Choice, but you may get a better deal DIY. Its also on Thomas Cooks site and Thomsons.

So long as you have a balcony, you are not in one of the Garden Rooms, which are not recommended.

Its not half board, its something called full board plus, which is all meals and soft drinks, wine and lager with meals.

We barely spent anything on food and drink. The odd cocktail and drink round the pool, because we couldn't be bothered to go into one of the resturants to get a drink. They are open virtually all day.

Hi still looking at prices for next year and because my 15 year old daughter is classed as an adult it looks like we could save loads of money booking 2 separate rooms but I'm a bit reluctant to book it this way in case it means that they could give us 1 room in P block and 1 room in S block! Has anyone else booked it this way and managed to get 2 rooms next door to each other?

we havnt stayed at lykia bigwoo but for about the last 4/5 we have always booked 2 standard rooms in hotels now .As you say once you have to start paying adult prices for your children anyway Its normally cheaper and providing the two rooms are on the same booking we have always been given either 2 adjacent rooms or rooms no more than 2 doors apart. Im confident you wouldnt have a problem . :)

We book 2 rooms in the Residence and always get either next door or across the hall from each other.

Hi Bigwoo,
The UK LW on-line booking form does still say child price is 2-15 inclusive
(w ww. lykiaworld.ie / booking_form.htm ) - have you been told that is wrong ? If you book via this form I guess they'd have to honour the booking/price ?
Reply
Dave A - I may be wrong but that website address you gave seems to me to not be an official Lykia UK website, but rather somebody's private one, where they are acting as an agent to take bookings.

:que Finding it very confusing all these different child ages.

Somewhere you could try is Hotels4U - T.Cook accom only site. Unfortunately the prices are not out for next year but when I put in for 2 adults, 1 16yr old and 1 13yr old for 1 week at Oct half term, the accom price was £887 for a Large Surperior room. Thought this was really good :tup

They said it will be about another 5 weeks for next years prices

Hi mehmeh1,
Not sure of their exact status, but we booked this years holiday via the UK office & this web-site, and seem to be the 'official' booking agent for LW in UK - all the paperwork comes through with LW logo's on etc & they are in direct contact with LW in Turkey as we have had e-mails forwaded back and forth apparently seamlessly - not sure if that reassures ! (anyway - they still seem to be the cheapest!).

Update - the UK agency mentioned is listed on the LW web-site contact page as the 'UK Office' with a lykiaworld.com e-mail, so although probably not LW employees, it is their official UK outlet/contact point.

Hi DaveA - On the main LW website, the UK office is shown as :-

UK Office:
6th Floor, Block A, Vista Office Centre,
50 Salisbury Road, Hounslow, Middlesex,
TW4 6JQ, United Kingdom
Tel: +44 (0) 870 224 55 24
Fax: +44 (0) 870 774 54 59
E-mail: uk@lykiaworld.com

However, the website you are using has this under 'contact':-

Vicky Fozard
Web Administrator

4 Bendigo Road
Dewsbury
West Yorkshire
United Kingdom
WF12 7LZ

I am not saying she isn't doing a grand bona fide job, I just suspect she is not actually the UK office of LW. So I felt people should be aware of this! But if you can get a better price through her, that's fine. :tup

Hi mehmeh1,

Ahhh! I think we are talking about different web-sites.

You are referring to w w w. lykiaworld-info .co .uk (the Vicky Fozard site)

I am referring to w w w. lykia-world. co .uk (the official UK LW agent site which is at the Middlesex address you quote)
If you click on "Book Now" it takes you to the "w ww. lykiaworld.ie / booking_form.htm" page I mentioned - with the kids ages "2-15 inclusive" - which is where this all started.......

I've just this minute received a quote from lykia-world.co.uk (Middlesex address ;)) and they have said children's age under 13.

As you say Dave, on the website it is stating up to 15yrs inclusive!
Reply
Dave - sincere apologies! When I copied and pasted your link with the 'ie', my computer took me to the Vicky Fozard site, for some reason. :que However if I use the plain http://www.lykia-world.co.uk it does indeed take me to the official Hounslow website!

No problem !
Unfortunately I have not yet reached the giddy heights of being able to directly post links - so I have to split them up with spaces - probably something to do with that!!

Hi Dave, phoned Lykia last week to get a price for next year and they that the child age was up to 13, when I queried this and told them about the booking form on the website stating it as up to age 15 inclusive they said it was a mistake and if I booked it via the booking form I'd run the risk of having to pay extra when I arrived in Lykia next year!

Oh dear!!

Bigwoo, we are a family of 6, with 4 children under 12 and we always book 2 rooms where hubby and I each share with 2 kids. We have never had a problem getting rooms next to each other, just to make sure though, I always email the hotel a week or so before and they usually reply that they'll make sure they are both together. This too was the case at Lykia last year, hope that reassures you.

Thats good to hear pamplemousse, just had a quote from direct hols of £4688 for 2 rooms flying from glasgow next July with great flight times - they've also assured me that they'll request that the 2 rooms are together which, although they can't guarantee, they said they've always managed to accommodate their customers in the past. That price is even cheaper than me doing a DIY deal :tup!
Reply
Hi Bigwoo that sounds like a good price for two rooms in the Residence during the school hols, are you going to go for it ?

I think Lykia do their very best to accommodate requests as its a hotel that trades on its good name and reputation. There were people there who were on their fourth or fifth visit.

Its not one of those places that cant be bothered with things, provided its within their means they try and comply with any reasonable requests.
