I must admit that I chuckled after reading the online article.
When the reporter called to find out whether instead of having a long wait in the queue over here for a visa, it will be replaced by a long queue at the airport of arrival, he was kept on hold for five minutes and the line went dead.
If it does happen, I hope they have more immigration staff at the airport. I also hope that this will not be open to abuse as a way to get more money out of the tourists.

maybe you cannot get past the security code because you have not made the code upper case or lower case or maybe that you cannot read all of the letters or numbers that are in the code. just keep trying again (close the site and open it again) until you get a code you can fully read and make sure you put it in in capitals or small letters as it is written. you should have no problems then

it took me about eight times before I got past the security code, was just about to give in when it let me in
I took my passport and photo's to a travel agent in west brom. they filled in the form on line for me and took everything to the birmingham office and I got my visa back on Friday, all done and dusted in one week. Danny

Hate to have to say this but I'm quite impressed with this system! Filled out the forms without any problems and paid on line, posted our passports off to London on Tuesday 16th Sept and they arrived back this morning (would have been sat but I have them sent to my office address)! Better than the old High Commission system where they seemed to hold on to passports for a few days before returning them.
Where the form asked for referees in Goa and the UK I put NA and it seems they are OK with this, though having a passport full of prior year's visas may have helped......
Just have to pack now.

Hi All, i am going to be completiing the online visa form shortly....have had a look at the form previously and dont have reference as have never been before....anyone know what i should put? have seen in previous post some people have put N/A

We were charged £10 last September, but this year I had them fill in the visa form and down load it, that could be why I was charged more. Danny

You can put NA but don't put N/A it wont accept it. For one of the references just put the place where you are staying and for the other put NA.

I completed the online form today. I noticed when I printed it off it says tourist visa 3M single. Does this mean they will only be valid for 3 months? I tried to modify this and check but it wont let me change it.
Personally I think you would get a 6 month one anyway. I had a similar problem regarding this and after several emails that still remain unanswered I managed to get hold of a guy using the phone number that they reserve for complaints. He told me to print off the forms and amend this section by hand and then submit the forms. This is only a couple of weeks ago so the information is pretty up to date.
Going thru to Edinburgh either 17th or 24th October.

Just completed my online application for hubby and I. Wasn't too bad, lets just hope I did it all correctly
