The two lads doing the Everley Bros tribute at the Stardust are two of the lads from Shoewaddywaddy. Shame you did'nt enjoy Gems and Lace, we did'nt get time to see them when we were there last month, Dene had just started up the duo, Ian was away from Beni for a bit. We had a few drinks with Dene one night though, he's a really nice chap, we usually catch up with him when we are over.

Yes he is. He does'nt do Sandras now, but is on at The Zodiac and The Palladium. We saw him in November and got quite a laugh by putting some "Fag Bangers" in his ciggies!!!....he had one or two words to say about that as you might imagine!!

HI. Has anyone heard of the entertainer Neil St John. It will be our first visit to Benidorm in April and he's been recommended to us. Not sure whether he's a comedian or singer. Any info please?

He's a Singer who was featured in the Benidorm Unpacked series. Apparently he is going to feature on another TV documentary when he was followed to Bulgaria to try to get singing work in the Summer months and also his attempt at X factor! He is currently on at Valentines. If you like him, you'll love another singer in Beni called Neil Ross, who appears at The Talk Of The Coast, which is the next bar to Valentines.

Just returned. Taking into account its January the numbers are down.Only places to have what I would call close to a full house was Morgans to see Crissy Rock. Very funny.But the act before her Boys R Loud,what a waste of good singers.Why do they have to prance around dressed like 8 year old school boys?
Stardust had a good attendance for Tony Scott, but Talk of the Coast 50% of the seats were empty for Mike Curtis( same material as 2 years ago) and the following comic.Maybe its the prices they are charging.Just about to get served my first round, and there was a geordie lad getting 2 vodkas and mixers, mixers out of the pump not bottles. 9.60 he had to pay.Did I hear right I asked him.Even if they were doubles thats steep.Got charged 4.50 for a pint of local and 2.80 for a glass of pump coke and 3 lumps of ice.Read some where on here its down to exchange rate 1 to 1 but I cant remember being charged 4.50 Jan 08 or even the Jan 07.
Talk of the Town, was going to see Chic Smith.Poked my head round the door must have been 6 in there.
Started the night off in the White Horse happy hour 7.30- 9.30 gets full by 9.

i read about you all saying about acts doing same act as 2 years ago etc
i have been going to benidorm on and off for many years now and nearly all of the so called successful acts once they get a set together that works rarely change it . even down to the so called ad libs between the songs for instance Neil Ross has been doing virtually the same act night after night since he moved from the wheeltappers about 6 years ago its that similar that one of his songs he used to dedicate to his son ( who is also a good singer -part of duo Levante in uk mostly )
then he dedicated it to his grandson now it is too his grand kids
so i know the saying is if it aint broke don't fix it but really they do need to move on and take a chance on some new stuff

Did you say that Neils Son (Matthew i think he's called) now sings in a Duo in the uk now? Do you know where, would it be around St Helens way. Are they called Levante you say?

yes he is singing in a duo called levante ( or rather was late summer last year) the other duo memeber was his girlfriend/wife very professional they were to a different ball game to neil but good all the same
i also saw them when Neil dragged Matthew up on the stage area at talk of the coast a couple of years ago when they were supposed to be on holiday but thats neil for you
and btw yes it was in St Helens Warrington area where of course neil is from
he used to be a milkman round Warrington many years ago

Blimey Small World....I was in that night when he dragged Matthew up too!!! Usually have a few drinks and a natter with Neil and Norma after he's sung. Really good Singer, but as you say, could do with changing the songs round a bit....mind you, his memory aint what it was Problem with "My Son" is that he gets asked for it, every damn night too! Will look out for Levante Duo in case they get round my neck of Lancashire!

When we were in Benidorm for New Year, we got told that Pancho's was shutting down for 3 months for a refurb (think it could be a bit over due).
Just wondered if anyone knows if work has started on it yet?
Thinking of booking up to go out there at Easter but want to make sure Panchos is open
