Hi Sleepyrella

We went to the Holiday Village a couple of years back and became friendly with a couple, the husband was in a wheelchair, and they had no problems at all. They were originally put in one of the blocks that was further away from reception but requested a change when at the HV and had no problems getting this. Everywhere is very much on the same level with only very slight slopes. The only problem you might have is coming back from the beach or the shops in C'an Picafort, the Holiday Village is at the top of quite a steep hill. However, reception were more than happy to phone for taxis and they were very reasonably priced and taxis were plentiful when out and about. Have I seen you putting up posts for the Holiday Village at the Algarve? If so the Holiday Village Viva is far easier to get around. As I have already said everything is on the same level and very wheelchair user friendly. Having been to both HVs and enjoyed both holidays I found the Viva to be by far the better of the two. Hope this helps but if you managed ok at the Alto then the Viva will suit you even better.

Marineland is a good day out but you will be about an hour and a half away from it. The better waterparks are also found in Magaluf and Arenal which is also an hour plus away from C'an Picafort. There is a waterpark in Alcudia which is ok but not great. A good trip that we did from the HV was the Pirates show at Magaluf. This is an evening trip and was a brilliant night out. From memory First Choice do trips to all of these places. Sorry can't remember the prices but do remember Pirates being expensive but worth every penny spent.

No Frills has been recommended in the past on HT for being reliable etc for trips and cheaper than T/O's

Am sure Marineland is the only one that has dolphin shows. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Is there much to do indoors and what is the indoor pool like?

Hi ready to go,
We went to the holiday village in September and had a fantastic time, we had a 4 yr old with us too.
Not a lot really to do if it is raining, although the entertainment team are fantastic, and really try thier best, your son will be happy anyway. \

If it is raining, I would recommend the kids clubs as they are fantastic and ours could not wait to get in them.
Otherwise its the indoor entertainment area, the entertainment staff are in there if the weather is bad, playing games, circus tricks, facepainting, quizzes and all sorts of party games going on, its a nice area too, big enough for the kids to run around, but small enough to keep an eye on them. They also show films in there too if the weather is bad.

The indoor pool, to be honest we never went in there as we were lucky with the weather, only rained for 2 days while we were there but its fairly small and always seems to be swim kids going on so a lot of it is cordened off.

the outdoor pools are freezing, but our kids loved them and would not get out of the kiddie one, once you take the first plunge though its not too bad.

hopefully in May you should have pretty good weather, whatever it is like you will have a fab time, we loved every minute and went for 2 weeks, the kids were all crying because they didnt want to come home.

Hi I'm after some advice on the holiday village viva we are booked to go there in June. I am going with my husband and 20 month little boy. Firstly does anyone have a direct email address for the hotel so I can put in a few special requests, I've searched previous discussions but can't find anything.

Is bottled water readily available in the hotel as this is all my little one drinks, and is it easy to get milk warmed up and is that easily available as well.

We have booked a cot for the room, is the bedding changed frequently on the cot as my little one often wets the bed even through his nappies.

Looking forward to going but as it is our first family holiday I am a little bit anxious. I would be grateful of any advice. Thanks.

I tried to find an email address also. I've used a contact form fo rthei rbookings team on the hotel group website for something similar but I think that function does not work as the screen shows an error(o rthey just don't bother responding). If I don't hear anything in a week or so I may call their bookings team instead and see if they know any better.

Hi, We, a family of four also going to holiday village viva in june and also went 2 years ago, sorry can't help with an email address, but can hopefully help with a couple of your questions. Our youngest was 2 when we last went and we had no problems with bottled water, if i remember rightly was readily available in plastic glasses at the bars and you could ask for bottled water at the table in the buffet restaurant. With regards to milk, we just bought the cravendale at the onsite shop and kept it in the fridge in the room, as even tho we were AI, the little kitchenette came in quite handy. Hope that helps a little!!! :)

I resorted to finding an email after the First Choice team were as much use as a chocolate teapot at finding answers. I've found(well worked out what the address is) an email address for the hotel direct(as well as their normal online team at reservations), but currently no-one replies to either it seems. Assume they are open for the season now but will see what happens. Shame really, last year the Proturs at Sa Coma would email or ring back the same day normally if you emailed them, seems customer service hasn't spread round the island.

Hi Jakehake,

Please can you tell me the contact email for Holiday Village Viva, we go next week and I have tried to get in touch with them, but no luck yet.

Thank you

Also, we have not been to Can Pictafort before, anyone have any info on the resort, what there is to do?
We are talking our 4 yr old, so any info on family activities etc, would be great x

Hi Blitzen01 - That's great thanks, counting down the weeks till we go. You obvioulsy enjoyed your first holiday there if your going back, any other tips/advice you can offer. Was it as good as you were expecting?

Does anyone have any advice on which block is the best one to stay in?

Hi, yes we did have a great time, a very family orientated hotel, which was what we were looking for! Looking forward to returning and the new splash pool for the kids looks great!
We not requested a particular block, just a pool view on a top floor.
Also counting down now, 5 weeks to go for us!!! :)

We got to Holiday Village Viva, a week on Monday.

Would love to hear from any one who has been this year. I know it has only been open a short time for 2009, but hopefully somebody will be able to give us info, on what it is like now!

I've just got my tickets and was wondering what the views are like if you are not facing the pool? is it just waist land?

Has Anyone been in May? are the pools warm enough to swim in and is it to windy for the beach?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just an anxious parent, wanting it to be a good holiday!

Thanks in advance to all xx

Hi just wondering if anyone has been able to find an email address yet?

Also does anyone have any advice on which block is best to stay in, I'd ideally like a room over looking one of the pools, does anyone have any suggestion which block would be best?

Is there a microwave in the buffet restaurant to heat up baby meals and are there set seating times for dinner?

Thanks to anyone who can help - not long to go now.
