The MGM deal is only appearing on the Top 20 Travelzoo email and not on the actual Travelzoo site. It's certainly worth signing up for the weekly email because I have seen deals before appear on the email but not on the actual website. I guess it's their way of saying thanks for signing up....loyalty in this day and age? Never!!!!
Lesley, I got your PM. You are quite right about the buffet it is very misleading. Surely the part "good for multiple uses" would indicate that you can use it all day but I guess, when an offer sounds too good to be true, it usually is. I still think it's a cracking deal, certainly up there with the best I have ever seen for Vegas. If for example you were to go to the Grand Buffet in the evening, I think that is around $25+tax, so there is some substantials savings to be had especially if you are there for a good few days. As Luci has pointed out though, it's easy to get sick of a buffet, but I quite like the breakfast and I would happily go there everyday because I would only have an Eggs Ben or an Omlette at America in NYNY or similar and have to pay $11+tax for that anyway. Better to stuff yourself at breakfast for nothing, skip lunch and then have a normal evening meal. That's my thinking anyway.
As things stand, as good as the deal is, it's still not that cheap for the room on our dates. I mean the Monte Carlo deal is nearly half the price of the MGM room, but of course you don't get the freebies.
Interesting times though. In a way, I am regretting changing our dates from August to September. Sure the flights are cheaper in September to Seattle and home from Vegas, but there really is no difference in the hotel rates in the Pacific Northwest and obviously August Vegas deals are two a penny. In doesn't help that our Vegas dates coincide with that conference either.
All good fun!!!
