Hi Twinton, the junior suites are blocks 10 and 11-they are closer to the beach and childrens activity pool. We stayed in one that was in block 11 and had a sea view-it was lovely. I personally would stick with the junior room is i were you as we met people who had a swim up but the pool was freezing in them. Apparently its only worth it in June/july/aug. We passed them everyday and out of the whole week only see one brave soul in the swim up pools.
oh well not long to wait now only38 sleeps.
I had read that about the water in the swim up rooms too
does anyone know how much the upgrade is to the junior jucuzzi rooms
hi guys does anyone have any up-to-date photos of the village, rooms etc if can you post some thanks
Hi, there are loads of photos (and reviews) on Tripadvisor here:
Wow thanks for that janalice im just doubly excited now and i cant wait which is the best block to be in i like sea view and quite thanks from an excited mam
Does anyone know if children are allowed in the sports bar at the holiday village?
debdon wrote:Hi all,
Please could anyone who has stayed in a swim up room tell me if there is a pull out rack or similar to dry small items like swimwear on, just wondering if its worth taking a few pegs. I have looked but cannot find any info on this.
Grateful to anyone who could help.
Thank you.
Deb.
Hi Deb
I got back from the HV yesterday (I will do a full review in a few days but am up to my eyes in chores at present lol).
We had two standard rooms and in both there was a washing line running the full length in the shower area. I hung our wet swimwear over this of an evening. I normally rinsed it through in clear water and it was more or less dry to wear the next morning, but we tend to take two each, so don't really need them till the second day IYKWIM.
I think the reason they don't put washing lines or airers on the balconys is that it is a very pretty place and they probably think it might make it look a bit of an eyesore, although I did notice people with terraces on the ground floors putting towels etc on the chairs on their terraces to dry them off, which is fair enough and I am sure things would dry more quickly there than in the shower room.
It really is a nice hotel. The swim-up areas looked beautiful. I am sure you are going to have a great holiday.

Hi JulieB. Just asked hubbie as he was the only one that went in the sports bar and he said yes children were allowed in He was charged 10 LE (about a pound) to go in but we aren't sure if this was standard or because there was a match on. He did try to look in the night Man U played Porto just to get the score but he said it was really packed and couldn't get close.
I'm not sure if its because this is a Brit hotel, but on the TV in the rooms they seem to have a whole channel devoted to English football.
This was my third time to Sharm and we didn't come across this in our other two hotels. They seem to run all the weekends premiership matches on a loop, plus a Champions League Matches live. Better coverage than I have here at home. as I dont have Sky Sports.

Can anyone tell what is the cheapest deal you've had for the Holiday Village for a family of four please?
Thanks
Can you give a bit more info ? Is it for 2009 or 2010, one or two weeks, what airport etc
When I left on Thursday, people were in the on-site First Choice travel agency booking their next holiday before they left. Certain dates were getting pretty booked up.
Chap infront of me was trying to book October half-term 2009 and couldn't get his airport choice or his required duration of 7 nights, he could only get 10 nights from his second choice airport.
The price he was quoted was 3.3K for 10 nights from Luton in one Family4 room, 2 adults & 2 kids. Seemed a bit steep to me, although you don't really need to spend much money once you are there due to it being AI. Prices can vary so I would just keep checking the FC web-site.
After that I just left them my email address & details for them to email me with any good deals for a week at Easter 2010.
i paid 2850 for family of 4 for 28th aug 09 2 weeks from gatwick
Hi, When we were at holiday village last year we booked before we left to go back this Year. We got 2 adults and 2 kids for 2 weeks from 19th May 09 for £1900.
if we had wanted the summer hol's we were looking at double?
I always book the week the hol's come out.
Weve just come back from a weeks stay. We paid £1200 for 2 adults and 2 children. We could of got it for just over a thousand if we went with the standard room but as it was a really good price paid a bit extra for a jacuzzi room. I doubt ill get it that cheap again
WOW!!!!
After reading so many mixed reviews i was very anxious about this place.
Absolutley amazing..............................
The food, lovely variety and my hubby is very particular. We had the basics to fajitas, beef wellington, duck in orange sauce. The kids loved the pizza area and the pasta area. We only ate in the mediteran restaurant and wasnt overly keen so we didnt bother with the indian and the chinese! We stuck to the main food area. The pudding are to die for!
The hotel very clean, well mainted, very pretty
The rooms...MASSIVE! We upgraded to a kids den and my girls loved it, they are 3 and 7. They had bean bags to watch tv in their room. We had a huge bed, it was hard but a few beers helped you sleep! The male maids where great, clean towels every day. Dont touch the mini bar its very expensive! We had water everyday which we didnt have to pay for.
The pools...well our first week they where cold!!!! We went around the heated pool, that was lovely.
Our second week we spent by the slide, my daughters loved it and to be fair the pools didnt seem that cold!
The annoying think was having to get up to put your towels out that was annoying each morning. You are given towel cards for the pool which is nice saves on using your own.
The beach was nice althought the sand was very corse. The sea was gorgous!
The only bad points i would say is the entertainment...
It was great for the kids mini disco every night for an hour. After was bingo and then the reps doing a butlins style show. I found it very plain and felt some of the reps didnt want to bother! It was annoying how they expected the kids to be quiet in bingo and during the entertainment and sit still. Its a family place for gods sake!!
The weather was fab one cloudy day in 14 days it was windy most morning but it was hot! Didnt need jackets at night.
I am already looking at booking to go there next year. It was fab, honest i recommend it to families.
If anyone has ay questions please email me and i will try to help. I went on here prior to coming and found it very helpful.
Hi Harrison81, sounded very nice could you tell me which blocks over looks the sea and in a quite area as we are going in a standard 2 adults and 2 kids, and also are the kids in a seperate bedroom thanks
It was great wasn't it. Really good for families.
My DH want's to go back next year and stay in a swim up room and he never wants to go back to the same place twice even if we go to the same resort (this was our third time in Sharm) we normally go to a different hotel to give some variety.
I was also a bit worried about what I had booked, having followed this thread since last year.
People had complained about the types of families going there and I can honestly say I didnt see any problems. We spoke to a fair few people at the quiet pool and they were all really nice. Never saw anyone drunk and every child I queued behind to get drinks in the buffet at lunch said please and thank you.
I will try and put a review up later today.
