Well more stress!....................

Our flight has been refunded ......great!

But now Visa (as promised) have taken the remainder of the money 'back off' us this month, so we are still out of pocket for the remainding hotel and transfer money.
I have the cancellation invoices (thanks Steve) and had sent them last month to Visa asking them not to take the money for this off us as I will be claiming for it from them. I rang them today and was told no we have to claim from TR!!!!! argh :banghead:
So, to cut a long story short I'm sticking with the advise from Consumer Direct and are giving both TR and Visa 7 days notice then they're gonna report this to Trading Standards for us.
I'm just sick of being pushed from 1 to the other.......................being told to claim by one off the other. If I was dead rich I would have given up months ago!!

I have been given my refund today!!!!!!!! hooray!!!!! credit card balance will be a lot better now!!!

Feeling relieved but angry its so hard to get what you are told you are entitled to.....

im sorry janannbad that you are beginning another battle, if ive learnt anything from this its not to do nothing!! sure you will get your refund if you keep banging away - not that you should have to.....

Hubby heard something on the news this morning regarding all these refund claims. He reckons Travel Republic were mentioned amongst others. The CC companies were taking a slating because apparently a lot of people should have been covered by their card but the companies hadn't paid out. Tesco refunded one customer their £5000 as a 'good will gesture'. It was also suggested that quite a few holiday companies (don't know whether they said TO's or airlines) would be going out of business in the not too distant future. Did anyone else see this?

Does anybody know what planes Travel Republic will be using for long haul flights to Mexico next summer please? I might put this on the flight forum too as it might get more response.

Hi Shirley, we do not organise flights ourselves, we sell flights operated by Tour Operators. We have up to April 2010 on sale as that is all that the Tour Ops have released for sale currently. I have struggled to find the aircraft type though, had a quick look at the operator websites but couldnt easily find it.

HI Steve, I should have asked what aircraft do they use on their package deals (long haul). Son's off to a wedding in Mexico next May and had a price off TR website yesterday. I told him to hold fire with the booking until he could find out if they'd be using decent aircraft with regards to comfort and ife. Although the site came up with a favourable quote for the hotel and date he wanted, when I tried to proceed it said that it was already sold out. He's flexible on dates within a day or two and had a more expensive price for an alternative date 2 days later. Now it seems as though Thomson are just as competitive on that date and he'll know the aircraft used. He's hoping to book in the next few days.

i paid my balance on 23rd april but have not had any room vouchers through the post yet. does anyone know how long it is after paying that you recieve them? thanks in advance. ali

Something not working our end their Ali. Thanks for raising this. The system shows we have sent you a voucher the same minute the payment was cleared on 23Apr, but as the payment was cleared at 0317 and we need to print (as opposed to email) your voucher, it wont have happened.

I have asked our IT team to investigate and requested a voucher be sent to you today.

thanks steve, forgot to say that i had 2 seperate bookings, one for 2 rooms and 1 for the extra room you helped me to sort out(if you remember). hope i get all vouchers needed!
