Flying from MAN on 28/6 to Mallorca departing at 0600. What time is the first flight of the day out of MAN as we'd like to get something to eat before flying - nothing booked on the flight and we will have been travelling from about 0100 anyway.

Thanks to all in advance for advice.

IainB99,

First flights depart at 0600 as that's when the runway opens for departures. You should be able to get something in the departure lounge as things will be opening.

We have always used securapark when flying from mancheser, you park your own car and take your keys with you, then they take you to whichever terminal you are flying from. Reasonable prices and good service.

Hi
Hope someone can help. We go to Gran Canaria on 19th September. Our flight is at about 9pm.

I was thinking of booking the Escape Lounge but wondered if anyone knew what snacks would be available in the evenings and is it worth the £20 per person?

As we fly from T2 and we haven't booked a meal on the flight can't really remember what eating places are available in (apart from Burger King!) Hopefully we will be ble to buy a Boots meal deal for the flight!

Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hey,
Thinking about taking my laptop on holiday with me but I wanted to check if anyone knows what security at Manchester is like with laptops? Do they require them to be scanned on there own? If anyone can fill me in that will be great.

z.j.c,

Regardless of where you are flying from, the laptop has to be passed through the x-ray machine on it's own.

Hi all

We're staying over the night before our early morning flight at the Hilton Hotel which we have never done before and i just wondered if there was anywhere landside where you could view the planes taking off/landing and if there were any bars which we could maybe have a drink in?

Carter,

Views over the apron from the airport are limited these days. The best place is level 13 of the main car park in T1. You can see the apron of T2, the maintenance hangars, the remote parking area and aircraft taking off / landing in the distance. There's nothing before security now so you might be better in one of the hotel bars or you could go down to the Airport Pub and sit in the bear garden enjoying views of the end of runway 23R/05L.

Thanks for the quick reply Dazbo.

We will be going into the hotel bar its just i really love to watch the planes taking off and landing as it still amazes me how they stay up there so really wanted to sit and watch them with a nice glass of wine to start my hols off early. ;)

The Aiport Pub sounds like a good place to sit and watch the planes, where is it and can you walk to it from the Hilton?

Thanks

Carter,

This photo will give you an idea of the views, it was taken from the oposite side of the runway so you can see the rear of the pub and the bear garden at the other side of the fence. You'll not get any closer than this. You can walk it from the Hilton, probably 15 minutes or get a taxi. It's just down Ringway Road, map here.

Thanks Dazbo thats amazing i cannot beleive how close you are, like i said i love to sit and watch them but we ususally just drive up the day of our flight so only get to see them through the viewing areas in the airport so this will be a great experience.

Well folks roll on the 21st August cos ill be in that beer garden with a glass of vino, what a fab way to start me hols in the Dominican :sun2

Thanks again Dazbo

We spotted the beer garden at the airport hotel when we took off to Sharm last year. This year we are staying overnight before our flight so will certainly be paying a visit the afternoon before :cheers

We are flying out from manchester to cuba in sept (terminal 1). We want to stop in a hotel at the airport the night before and require 15 days parking. Any recommendations????.

Not Britannia Country House Hotel, we had booked an extras package of hotel and 15 days parking at a bargain price put after watching reviews hit certain other sites from early in the year to date we cancelled. I would say no matter what price you're quoted don't do it.

There seems to be a fair selection with parking too; Bewleys, Travelodge, Premier and if they don't include parking some offer discount at other off site parking agencies.

We did the same thing Wayneo, booked this hotel as we have an early long haul flight the next morning and i committed the cardinal sin i did'nt read up on the reviews before hand :duh

Lets just say we cancelled the very next day as there was not one good review about this place!

We are now staying at the Hilton which cost us around about £100 for a double room with breakfast and 15 days parking!

I think we'll be going for the Hilton. The Radisson was highly recommended but it seems to be about £40-50 more than the Hilton.

Is the departure time shown on Manchester Airport website (Live flight info) the pushback from gate time or the actual takeoff time?
