Hi everyone
I'm travelling from Glasgow to Cancun, TOM348, this Friday, 19th June, and I'm considering buying a Nintendo DSi for the 10.5 hour flight.
My question is, how good is the entertainment system on the flight. Are the films set start times, are the games any good, does the system mostly work or am I likely to get a seat with a mis-functioning system. I don't expext to be entertained for the full flight, I've got a wee boy coming up 3 anyway, but someplace to get 3, 4 or 5 hours to myself while the wife or in laws take their turn looking after my son. Oh and if anyone knows what will be showing that'd be good to see.
Thanks
thanks.
Welcome onboard
Your flights are operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. You'll find further aircraft details and my trip reports on our What Aircraft? guide. The seat back IFE system is very good with a range of films, tv programmes, music and games to keep you entertained. The films in economy are looped so start every couple of hours. However you can upgrade to the premoium IFE for £5 giving you more choice and on-demand functionality so you can start and stop them as you wish. I've never had a problem with a non-functional screens (although it does happen, crew will reboot and try and sort them) and I fly with them regularly. You'll find the May/June IFE listing here and the games are as follows:
Solitaire
Hangman
Disney Classic Games
Battleship Multiplayer
Insaniquirium Deluxe
Scrambledash
Zuma (Premium)
Ultraball (Premium)
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (Premium)
Bejewelled Deluxe (Preium)

Welcme onboard
MAN-LCA-MAN (TOM2334/5) are operated by a Boeing 757-200. IFE for July / August hasn't been released as yet. It should be by the end of June.
Darren
How do you upgrade the IFE? Is it as simple as paying for it at the beginning of the flight to a flight attendant? By premium do you mean sitting in premium (most likely) or on a premier holiday.
Also if we paid for one upgrade I guess no-one would object to my wife and I swapping seats to use the premium IFE for a while each as the other one watches my son.
Thanks
Allan
Once you are airborne, cabin crew will announce the itinerary for the flight and come round to upgrade the IFE for those that want to. You pay your £5 for each seat you want to upgrade and crew will activate it by swiping a card on your screen. By all means swap seats to share it!
Darren
thanks for the information darren
Im flying Cardiff to Arrecife on Sunday 9th August - 16th August flight TOM6706, and ive been looking at the departure/arrival for the past few weeks and it seems to be consistently delayed, is there a reason for this and is this going to be a regular thing every week for this flight?
Welcome onboard
CWL-ACE-CWL (TOM6706/7) are operated by a Boeing 737-800 (winglets). Delays happen for a number of reasons, but I'm sure they'll try and get you away on-time. The reason for todays delay is the aircraft is late inbound from Rhodes (TOM6685 by 2 hours 54 minutes).
Darren
Many thanks, but according to thomson tom6685 lands at Cardiff on a Saturday and the outbound flight to ACE leaves on a Sunday, is this wrong? Just trying to figure out how the flight to ACE is delayed when TOM6685 lands 24hrs before the depature to Lanzarote.
The information I have, the flight operates the following:
Dep CWL Sat 20:50, Arr RHO Sun 02:55, Boeing 737-800 (winglets), Flight No: TOM6684
Dep RHO Sun 03:55, Arr CWL Sun 06:10, Boeing 737-800 (winglets), Flight No: TOM6685
Dep CWL Sun 07:40, Arr ACE Sun 11:40, Boeing 737-800 (winglets), Flight No: TOM6706
Dep ACE Sun 12:40, Arr CWL Sun 16:25, Boeing 737-800 (winglets), Flight No: TOM6707
The reason your flight today was delayed was because the inbound flight from RHO didn't land until 09:06 Sunday morning when it was due in at 06:10, hence it delayed the following ACE flight.
Darren
Many thanks Darren for the info.
Hope you can help ! I have had a good look around the internet , but hopefully you can confirm a few things for me.
I am on the Thomson Flight (TOM804) to Sanford on the 19th of this month. Looking around the internet I find conflicting information regarding which plane we will be travelling on. I believe that it is an ex-First Choice Aircraft with a 2-3-2 seating configuration and I believe that the flight plan is 763. Could you confirm this for me? Also could you tell me is there anywhere inside the terminal building where you can have a cigarette apart from outside the main entrance? Finally, we looked at previous information on your site regarding the in-flight films for our outwardbound journey, are you aware of the film choice on this flight?
Thank you for your time.
Regards
Films for May / June are on page 84.
We are flying from Doncaster/Sheffied to Dalaman on the Monday 14.55 flight (Tom 448),any ideas what Aldo Zilli has in store for us in the way of food.
Welcome onboard
BHX-SFB-BHX (TOM804/5) are operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. You'll find further aircraft details on our What Aircraft? guide. The airport is no smoking so it's out in front of the main building. IFE informaion is in my post to bluemo above.
Darren
