Hi

Can anyone tell me if seats 1A and B on a former FCA longhaul flight has less room due to a wall. If so can you recommend a good seat.

Flying manchester to cancun on 02 August (TOM144)

hi dazbo
i am flying out to paphos from manchester at approx 4pm on sat the 25th july with thomsons and was wondering if you could tell me which aircraft and the seating plan for it as i want to book extra legroom seats and just wondered if they were just seats by the door or a specific section at the front of the aircraft, if by the door could you give me the seat numbers where there are just 2 seats together, also i am flying out of man to malaga on friday the 28th august with first choice and would also like same information on that flight as well please, and could you also tell me about the inflight entertainment systems on both aircraft please
thankyou in advance for your assistance and help in this matter

Seats 1 AB are not the best as bulk head in front of you so cant stretch your feet out like you can under a seat in front any other rows good except row 9 has no window.

73H - Boeing 737-800 (Winglets)

jonboywirral,

As snowyboy mentions, the bulkhead does limit legroom to a degree. Although the seat pitch is slightly larger than the other seats, the bulkhead prevents you from streching your legs out that you'd ordinarilly do under the seat in front. They therefore give you less overall room. Rows 2-9 are roomy enough but row 9 doesn't have windows as it's where wiring is routed.

littlecamel,

How're things? You've not posted for a while. MAN-PFO-MAN (TOM2650/1, departing at 15:55) are operated by a Boeing 757-200. You'll find a seating plan here and further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide. Extra legroom seats are located on rows 12 and 32. It's row 12 that are pairs by the door. MAN-AGP-MAN (TOM2556/7) are operated by the same aircraft type; Boeing 757-200. IFE details are on the What Aircraft guide.

Hi, i am booked to go to Mombasa but not until sept 2010 (16/9/10) going from manchester with Thomson. I know its a long way off but does anyone know whether it will be a ex thomson fly aircraft or a ex FCA aircraft? i think its operated on a 767. Also paying to go into the premium cabin. does anyone have any pics of the premium cabin? thanks.

daz1971,

It'll be a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. I got back from there myself a couple of months ago with them! If you click on the aircraft type on the What Aircraft? guide, you'll find some cabin photos.

Thank you Darren, do you know if you can actually select your seat in the premium cabin and if so which is the best row? as me and my partner are going i think he 2 seats together would be ideal.

also not sure if you will know this yet but i went to Naples in May with Thomson and it was a ex fca a321 or a320 (cant remember now) do you know at this stage which aircraft will be used for Naples next summer?? This year they do 2 flights on a Friday and 1 on a Monday (not sure if its the same for summer 2010)
Thanks.

daz1971,

You can select your seat at extra cost. It's currently £5 per flight bookable 4 weeks before your departure date. There isn't a best row really, but you might want to look at my post to jonboywirral above. Seating is always personal preference. It's too early to know what aircraft are based where for 2010, but I would assume the same type (A321-200 on the earlier of the two flights from MAN on a Friday, 737-800 on the later one).

Hi Daz1971,

Don't mean to butt in, but I would suggest trying to book your seat numbers earlier than 4 weeks before your flight. I'm flying with Thomson on 14th Aug and managed to book my seat numbers today - 7 weeks before departure.

pat,

The timings vary. It was originally 6 weeks then 4 weeks. I think you've just been lucky in that your flights have been uploaded earlier than normal. They're planning on 12 weeks and online eventually, but that could be a while off!

Is there specific 737's based at DSA this summer or is it rotated.

boygeorgefan,

They're rotated regularly for maintenance.

HI darren,

Your quite right. Thomson told me originally 8 weeks, then 6 weeks, then 4 and yesterday when I phoned them it went back up to 6 weeks!

I phoned them up again this morning to be told to phone back on 2nd July, but this afternoon I was looking through this site and a couple of posts read that seats were now loaded for July/August, hense I managed to get the exact seat numbers I wanted. Had I listened to the advise given to me by Thomson call centre, I probably wouldn't have got the seats I was after.

Thanks again to this site - it's come up trumphs!!

boygeorgefan,

G-FDZP has been transferred (leased) to Jet4You under the registration CN-RPG. They're a low cost airline based in Morocco.
