hi jus wondering if there is any compensation i can recieve from thomson has was not told my flight would be going via london gatwick in october??

Jonouk1211,

You won't be entitled to anything since it constitutes a minor change. You'd also have to argue the case that you're losing something and therefore require compensating for that loss. It's just a slight increase in flight time so it wouldn't be worth the hassle of making a claim.

Jonouk1211,

As you may have seen over the previous few weeks, Thomson have been consolidating some flights and changing the aircraft used on some routes due to a lack of demand on some long haul destinations and increased demand on some short haul because of the knock-on effects of swine flu. Hence, your flight is now a combined flight going via LGW. The flight will be operating direct from LGW. Please don't copy directly from other websites, David will probably remove it when he's next on.

No Problem Dazbo always happy to help!
Just wish I was able to say I was getting the correct aircraft for my flight, I have lost a lot of faith in Thomson now. :(

am not really looking forward to my flight now that its on a ex fca 763 (TOM568) was really looking forward to going on a tom 763 as was the case last year with all of toms ncl long haul schedule last year- i hope its changed but looking at past a/c for this flight its never been a tom 763 yet so very muh doubt it will be chnaged to a tom 763. :( :(

murphy24,

I think you're quite fortunate you're on an ex-FCA aircraft. You'll find the majority of people will agree they are much nicer than the former Thomsonfly aircraft. You'll find further details on our What Aircraft? guide. I'd be looking forward to it if I was you; you're travelling on probably the best charter configured Boeing 767-300/ER currently in the sky!

Darren,
I dont suppose you have any ideas why TOM196 on tuesday has been changed aircraft do you?
Thomson are being very vague with it saying there not able to tell me why the aircraft has been changed but then suddenly saying its technical its really strange.
Reply
z.j.c,

Unless it's a long term technical problem (all aircraft are currently in operation) or unscheduled maintenance to reclify a minor / recurring problem, it's not your normal technical problem that has caused the change. The call centre won't have the information to pass on to you.

Darren,
Thanks for that when I rang up they were shocked that I knew exactly which aircraft had operated the flight. Im hoping we still get some form of entertainment otherwise it looks like a long game of eye spy!

[quote=Dazbo5]Although flight crew will often give names during pre-flight briefings to introduce themselves, names is not something we can post here for many reasons, including data protection and security.

Hi,

yeah, I know that, it's the reason why I asked if anyone knew where I might find out the info, rather than for the info itself. I thought maybe someone might say, for example, "oh yes, email X@thomson, they'll be able to help you" to point me in the right direction as Thomson are ridiculously difficult to contact 'online' post-trip nowadays to give any sort of feedback, good or bad (although i have to say any feedback i'd have given them would have been good).

Continental Airlines were very helpful with a similar request a few years ago for instance.

as I say, it's a small thing and I appreciate you taking the time to reply even though its outside your usual realm of expertise.

keep up the good work.

cheers
Paulie
