Thanks for the prompt reply Dazbo. Looking forward to it. I do like the 752 ......even if it is with Monarch :( (At least it's not Ryanair I suppose.)

I didnt even know Marsa Alam was ILS equipped.

It's looking like G-OZBN, but don't quote me on it.

Oh great an aircraft without ife!! :( but MON3892(dalaman) is using G-MARA is it not?

As I mention, don't quote me on it as I'm sat at home! There's no point worrying about the particular aircraft you're on, it's not like you can do anything about it! G-MARA is correct, I don't know why SBS-1 brought up G-OZBN when I checked before, it's showing G-MARA now :que Have a great holiday,

Hi, going from Man-RMF-Man 23 Sept 09 on Mon 1860/1, booked holiday with Direct Holidays part of TC & have booked seats together, but i phoned Monarch to book specific seat numbers as we do when flying with TC, but was told this was not possible, only seats that can be pre-booked are extra leg room or medical seats, we prefer to sit near the front of the aircraft, can anyone tell me that if we were to get to the airport before check-in opens at 6am could we ask for certain seat numbers, someone has told me that seats are allocated the day before so not to bother getting to airport extra early, hope you understand what i'm on about, thanks very much.

Cobra,

As you've found, Monarch don't offer a select your seat service on their charter flights. As they allocate seating at check-in, I'm sure they'll try and accommodate your needs if you ask when you check-in. Thomas Cook have started to pre-allocate seating, but you aren't flying when them, you've just booked through one of their sister companies.

Dazbo I am flying from Manchester to Sharm on 3/9/09 with Monarch flight no mon3538 on A330 airbus.

When looking on their website it appears that the seating plan is 3-3-3 is this right? Also does it have IFE on the back of the seats with it being a large plane?
This is our first experience of Monarch and I have attempted to book hubby and I a window seat, although we have prebooked them together, but they wont let you purchase a window seat. The have very kindly taken my details and forward my request it however, not guaranteed.

Thanks in advance Dazbo

Kazee,

Monarch's A330 only has seat back TV's in it's premium cabin at the front of the aircraft. Because this is a medium haul flight they do not sell the premium seats as such but rather as extra legroom. If you have only booked seats together then you are most likely going to be sat in the standard cabin. You can find out more information about the A330 in the What Aircraft? guide.

However, if you do decide to purchase extra legroom seats and requests seats at the front of the cabin then there is the possibility you may get not just extra legroom, but also seat back TV's and a little more width as the setaing here is 2-4-2. However, this is not guaranteed as there are other extra legroom seats around the cabin that you may be allocated instead.

For a flight to Sharm el Sheikh, there should be in-flight entertainment. IFE should be shown on all flights above approx 3 hours. There may be occasions when, due to unforseen circumstances, IFE is not shown, as appears to have been the case for Wizard.

We are on Monarch flight MON7964 from LGW to Dalaman on Wednesday 12th august, does anybody know what type of plane we shall be on, seating layout and where the extra legroom seats are? Thanks for your help. :sun2

ESM,

Your flight will be operated by an A321-200. You can find out more information about this aircraft from the What Aircraft? guide.

Thanks Darren for ur rapid reply, so would u say that we would be better getting to the airport before check-in opens then, as we would like to try & get 9abcd, because looking at the layout of the plane row 9 is just left of the doors, and that would then give us the chance to stretch our legs during the flight.

Cobra,

That's something only you can decide. If you want to get a specific seat, I would try and be at check-in at least 2.5 hours before your scheduled departure time as most aim for around 2 hours before.

Hi
We are flying from Luton on the 25th Sept 09 at 15:00 to Larnaca - and then back to Luton on 6th Oct departs Lca er... 21:00 i think. :think As you can see I am very organised!! Ha
Could you tell me what plane type we will be on? I seem to recall that we have booked our seats, as we have children. But I was wondering if they would be able to see a TV, or whether we are all in for a noisy time.
Thanks

Tracyhf1,

Please quote flight numbers if you have them, it makes it easier to dig out the information. LTN-LCA-LTN (ZB856/7) are operated by Airbus A321-200. You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide. IFE should be available on your flight. The screens drop down from over the seats so I'm sure you'll be able to see them ok.
