oh thank you z.j.c. for pointing out that there is not a lot you can do but i live in london so Jet is not much use to me - Easyjet dont release their flights for at least another 6- 8 months
like i said I like the service i got with BA and am after similar service - so if their are any readers that know more information it would be most appreciated - has nnyone heard any rumours or is anyone else aware of this -
As you may have seen, BA announced big losses in the last quarter and have therefore pulling some routes in order to save costs. I would imagine every route is currently under close scrutiny in order to minimise losses, particularly on what are classes as leisure destinations. You'll just have to wait and see what BA announce towards the end of the year and whether they decide to continue flights to Mallorca. At least BA operate international flights where you live, every non-domestic route from other parts of the country dissapeared quite a while ago! As z.j.c mentions, your alternatives include Easyjet, Thomson Airways and Thomas Cook (some operated by Air Europa) from Gatwick. What about Bmi from Heathrow? They offer a similar level of service to BA. You've also got charters and schedule services from Stansted and Luton so plenty of options.

If I book WT+ on a busy transatlantic route with very few seats available, might I get an upgrade?
If I book WT, can I buy an upgrade at the departure airport before the flight and if so, will the upgrade be any cheaper when added to the already paid WT fare when compared to the cost of a WT+ ticket bought at the published price?
Are you a BA frequent flyer (One World)? The chances of a free upgrade unless you hold a high level privellidge card is very unliklely. If you book WT+, that's where you'll be seated. If there are seats available in the next class on the day, you can normally pay to upgrade but it's not always at a reduced price and there are no guarantees of availability.

i checked a few of the others but on the way back its a stop off and i dotn want to do that - Easyjet service does not compare to BA but thanks anyway
But it's a question of power points really, and as US airlines seem to be getting unhappy with CPAP machines being used in flight (regardless of whether you are using an aircraft power supply or not), I was trying to see how I could get a plug on the transatlantic sectors without paying WT+ for the domestic/european sectors.
Don't really know where to put this so sorry if I'm in the wrong place. I'm flying to Tunis with BA in a couple of weeks and on 'Manage My Booking' it says I should fill in my API (Advance Passenger Information). I was not aware that this was needed except for certain countries, in particular Spain. Could someone clarify? I obviously don't want to be delayed at the airport but strongly object to filling in unnecessary forms.
API Is Being Required For More And More Eurpoean And Worldwide Destination.
Also If It Is Asking You For It, Then You Need To Provide It

Thanks Gower. I wasn't sure if it was simply a 'sticky' on the BA site. I've not seen any mention of this requirement on any other airline's site so there could be quite a few people delayed at the airport if it is now essential.
Hi i am on the BA flight from Glasgow To Heathrow tomorrow at 9.15 in the morning (12/9/09) i was wondering if anyone could tell me what plane it is and possibly the reg if thats possible thanks
scotgr,
Sorry its BA1477
BA1477 is operated on a Airbus A320 aircraft. It is usually operated on G-BUSG but this can change due to maintenance and other things.
Enjoy your flight,
Z.J.C
Thanks alot

Earphones have been provided FOC on all the long hauls I've done to the US.
We are flying LGW - PMI on weds flight no BA2708 returning on flight no BA2709, please could you tell me which aircraft these would be.
Thank you.
Deb.
