I have just phoned a Visa Office and been told will be okay as we are going back after two months has elapsed.

Thats that solved then.
Does anyone know is it possible to get another 6 month tourist visa without there being a 2 month gap between the 2 visa's although you wouldn't be actually travelling to India untill after the 2 months has elapsed?

DOH!!! :duh

My visa applications have been returned today.. :( ....
Maybe someone here could give me a few pointers?

I have just emailed them to explain to me what I did wrong:

Dear Sir,

I posted mine & my 12 year old son's Visa applications last week, and they have been returned today.

I enclosed our passports, 2 photos each, 2 hand-written application forms, 1 stamped self-addressed special delivery envelope, £80.10 in postal orders (£30.00 x 2, £9.05 x 2, £1.00 x 2).

The printed sheet you sent back with my applications has:

Number 2 highlighted - incomplete fees, but i sent a stamped self addresses special delivery envelope (which it has been returned in).

Number 3 highlighted - recommend you complete application online.(I was unable to do this as my printer at home is not working)

Number 7 highlighted - Applications under 16 needs both parent's passports and a letter of consent? (I am not in touch with my son's father at this time)

Number 7 highlighted - Request you send £7.40 to cover postage for 2 passports that have been returned? (they were retuned in the stamped addresses envelop i sent)

I am confused, please could you let me know what I should do next?

Many thanks

This is probably not going to be good news for you, but a similar thing (re other parent's consent) happened to somebody who posted on TripAdvisor.

I can't really see anything wrong with the other things they've highlighted.

Here's the thread, the lady mentions the issues on reply #17:

From what I remember, the father of the kids was willing to travel up to prove his agreement to the holiday but that wasn't sufficient for them to grant visas.

In the end, the visas were picked up by a neighbour and taken to the airport where this lady and her kids were waiting to check-in.

As I say, this is not going to be welcome news but you're probably better off being aware of how serious they treat circumstances like yours.

Good luck.

When the Russian visitor numbers to Goa drop (due to increasing numbers of rapes of and crimes against their nationals) or when other nationalities start filing regular police reports for similar crimes then Goa will definitely be complaining about it then. When that happens, they'll probably beg us to come back by offering us 6 month multiple entry tourist visas that are actually valid for 6 months and waive the 2 month rule.

Sad really, by that time the majority will have found somewhere else to spend their money. A hard lesson in life for Goa.

Hi all

We left Goa on the 20th December 2009 and are returning 21st February 2010 (9 weeks or 2 months and a day). Slightly concerned about the possiblity of not getting into India after reading all the information above. I telephoned the High Commission in London today, explained the situation and the lady replied will not be a problem as more that 2 months so I'm taking their advice and hoping for the best when we land. So this could be the shortest holiday we have ever had.

Dave10 posted a similar concern above and he has been assured that he will be okay too - try not to worry, I think you will be okay. :tup

ps.........Just wondering if it's possible to have these reassurances in writing, either a letter or e. mail - if anyone then did experience a problem either UK side or in India, you would then at least have something to show as proof of what you've been told. :que

Don't think you will have any problem Liz & Ivan but you really don't want the worry of it do you.
I would imagine the discusting breaking news above will put the Russians off Goa.

I really cannot believe they missed the word alleged out when they mentioned the alleged rape by a Goan politician.

Has he even been charged yet?

Talking to a friend last week about visa rules, here is the situation we spoke about :

A friend is currently in Goa and returns on 2nd February

My other 2 friends plan on going to Goa on 5th March

The friend who is currently in Goa also wants to go along with the other 2 friends in March

I told my friends that he will not be able to go as he needs a 2 month gap from the date he left India, he has been to 2 travel agents and they have told him he will be able to go.

I say they are wrong

Have I got this right ?

:que :duh :duh

You're right, he'll need two months gap from when he returns til the day he wants to return. Travel agents dont know what they're talking about, just want your money :que

Thanks Chilly and Gooner, what worries me most about the misinformation they were given is the fact that the travel agent told them about the long stay 90 day rule which as far as I am aware hasn`t been implemented and has nothing to do with his initial enquiry.
My friend doesn`t really have much of a clue about the visa rules so for thomas cook and co-op travel to both tell him the same thing and him to tell me what he did I was shocked(no way would he have known about this 90 day thing had they not mentioned it), he was adamant that I must have got it wrong as they couldn`t have been.

Oh dear !!!!!! :duh
