Theres a letter headed " Mass exodus" in todays newspaper.this lady doesn't seem very happy.
As far as being a worthwhile terrorist prevention measure, I'd rank it on a par with the policeman who used to cycle down Holiday Street in Calangute a year ago, with an old gun over his shoulder, to man the gun emplacement outside the Goan Heritage Hotel

I have had a VERY stressful day .... took our passports and filled in visa applications and photos to a travel agency which specialises in arranging Indian Visas, despite phoning the Indian embassy back in December and asking them is it okay to have only 2 pages left in my passport ? they told me yes no problem Madam ...... anyway today I found out 3 pages are now needed as they also put a huges stamp across 1 page to advise of the new 2 month rule ridiculous, I have spent all afternoon sorting out applications for new passports ... to be on the safe side I have paid extra for the 48 pages as with the Indian visa taking 3 pages up it won't take very long to get full up I am heading for Thailand in November .... much less hassle.
Try Cambodia ..... really this 2 month thing is crazy , to get in Cambodia you just pay $25 on arrival
visa ready for collection so thats taken 8 working days after dropping it off.
Great news Vegasone

I was on the phone to Birmingham for nearly 2 hrs this morning, no reply!! will have to take a day off work and drive down there and keep calm! and then if accepted drive down to Birmingham again to pick up passports.
We could have a weeks holiday for what the EXTRA cost will be.

Scorpion, that is dreadful, this really is causing some big problems, hope you get sorted, shirley
You can also buy a 1 year multiple entry visa in Cambodia which is re-newable there....you never have to leave the country again if you don't want to. Bit different isn't it?
Sent hubbys passport back to vfs on monday. Hope they correct his visa properly as his surname was spellt wrong. Tracked it with post office and it was delivered to vfs on tuesday. Tried to track it and so far says no record found, will try again tomorow. Dont know as it has allready been processed if it will be on the tracking system, or if they will just get it corrected and just send it back. Really hope they get it right this time as only 4 weeks on sunday to go. Denham
Dear Applicant,
Thank you for the query.
The two months gap we mentioned in the note starts from the last exiting date till next application date.
So when you apply for the next visa you need to have proper two months gap in between.
Thanks
Diana
Due to work committments we were then left with a very small window in which we could make our trip
We have managed to get flights leaving 22nd feb, however we need to sort the visas and as you can see its very tight deadline - 7 working days. Also it is not the easiest thing to get days off work prior to hols as we are going for 3 weeks, which has already required special permission! Its only Goa that keeps us sane
Although last year i processed the applications online and then dropped off at Birmingham one day collecting a few days later i cannot for the life of me remember whether i can book a specific date for the appointment or it gets allocated?
In summary
Can i book which day to take visa app's - therefore resolving work issue
Would we be better using an agent? Has anybody got any experience or advise re this
Help been Goa 4 times and love it but its getting more and more difficult
I personally would use an agent, i dont know how far you are from Birmingham but add on petrol, parking and queueing up for hours and taking time off work the extra charge would be well worth it.
I dont know how you would get an appointment as they NEVER answer the phone anyway, so the other alternative is to queue from about 6 am to make sure that they see you on the same day.

I've read through most of this thread i promise!
Also, you don't have to pay online do you? I could take it into a London office myself so i'd like to pay then?
Thank you thank you!
Get to centre (not on 26th Jan its shut)
You will get given a ticket
wait for up to 3 hours
once called hand it all in get another ticket
go home
Check online 3 days later and keep checking until it says its ready.
Go back and collect a ticket
wait an hour
collect when called
check it
go home
Brilliant, thank you so much!
We are due to return for our 2visit in less than 2 months arrived back in UK 12th Jan) so are having to apply for re-entry...........maybe a silly question but can anyone tell me if we both need to attend or can just one of us take all the info etc..........hubbys work more flexible than mine
Thanks in advance
Anyway started from scratch again and hey presto I got back in and filled both mine and husbands application in with no problem and also managed to book an appointment.
I have just got in from London, the Wilton Road Visa Office, and it all went smoothly in fact I was in and out in 30 mins. I was given a ticket downstairs and they sent me up to the first floor. They had two sequences of numbers - one set for those who had booked an appointment and another for those who had not (who apparently would have at least an hour longer to wait).
What made me really laugh was the amount of Indian people who were sitting filling out their applications while they waited, some of them multiple applications. When I think of how I agonised over our application I think perhaps I need to relax more!!!
Alan
You can go to the Hayes office in person, if you fill in the application form on line it'll quicken up the process a bit, and you can also make an appointment. You won't get the visa the same day, for us it was taken in on a Friday, and picked up the next Tues pm.
Thanks Liz I'll have to do it on Monday 25th, just before they close on the 26th for Republic Day
